/ Listen to this song here / I woke up at seven and my body was vibrating / I was wrapped up in a blanket / I was grey damp and sore / the bedroom was an engine / and my heartbeat was erratic / (like i think I’m at the racing like the night before) I remember one girl standing / one was sitting on the ground / one was holding me up / the other pulling me down / and I couldn’t decide which one was real / because there wasn’t a sound / (like I was pregnant again… ) I woke up at seven and my body was vibrating / I was wrapped up in a blanket / I was grey damp and sore / the bedroom was an engine / and my heartbeat was erratic / (like i think I’m at the racing like the night before) “Don’t move don’t smile don’t blink don’t think don’t even breathe” She said / “or the photograph will spoil / And cut you off at the head” / So I was sucking / I was sucking like a fat lady would / but I couldn’t hold it down another second / (bleagh!) / “don’t twitch don’t shout don’t think don’t even breathe” she said / “or the photograph will spoil and cut you off at the head” / so I was sweating / I was sweating like a fat lady would… / and I woke up / with a man inside my mouth (this won’t hurt at all… ) The Cure from the Album The Head On The Door
From the Carnivalesque series – a little tee (Originally only available in white – since the quality of the image was much clearer. However I’m making other colours available as an experiment. The white areas are lost on the colour, which I don’t particularly like – but if you do then I won’t stop you from buying one!)

A little while ago I promised I’d have some more news on our calendar dreaming soon – We’re not 100% there yet, still fiddling around with the final printing stock, size, ordering hanger material etc BUT it’s really close … I’ve made some calendars that everyone I show them to like, including some real life users ! So there’s good news, bad news and we need your help. / / The Good: We are looking at a 13 page, A3 sized 300 GSM calendar, wire bound for about $18USD ($20AUD) – Plus a dash of postage. They feel heavy and look nice. The Bad: Christmas is coming and we have too much to do – But, if there is enough demand “we’ll” ( read Justin ) will try and find a way to squeeze them in somehow. The Help: So what I’d ask you guys to do is help us by answering a couple of questions (in the comments or via BubbleMail to me is fine) 1) How many calendars as described above would you buy of your own work to sell or give away ? / 2) How many calendars would you buy from other artists to keep or give as gifts if they were available ? / 3) How many ‘best of RedBubble category’ style calendars would you buy if they were available ? / 4) What’s of most interest – 1, 2 or 3. Ultimately I think we will do 1, 2 and 3 – But for this year we might have to compromise and I want to make sure we make the right choice to keep as many of you guys happy as we can ! James

I can’t help but wonder how all those marbles found their way into my head. Chinese checkers anyone?
*model/ concept: Art laugh because it’s funny, and cry because it’s so pitifully true, guys… the fact remains that even if you’re a talented design/ art/ photography student, the size of your income may not always be quite so proportionate to the size of your skill. (of course, if you throw in a heavy dose of prayer and ambition, THEN the equation changes…) special thanks to Art for coming up with the idea for this photo, and just being ballsy enough to do this at a freeway exit, where I’m sure drivers were more than a little weirded out by what they saw oh, and by the way… do you guys remember the good ol’ days when we thought $2.87 for a gallon of gas was expensive? we were young, naive and innocent then… fun fact: this photo is nearly two years old! I took this back in late 2006 when I didn’t even have my dSLR yet! I normally don’t go back that far when searching for past photos that are worthy of being tweaked in the lab, but this one was special :)
Too many tears are raining down on me…...... / My tangled state of mind…... / Torn between your lover and the love you leave behind….... / I am just the shadow of the person I used to be….. / A victim of the crime….. / Too much love will kill you, every time…................ Taken in 1966, this is one of my favourite images of the 60’s of the iconic DJ, Sir Jimmy Savile OBE. I took the shot when I was 20 during my assistant days at 1:15 am, after a long advertising shoot for a petrol company with my boss, top fashion and advertising photographer John Cowan. I asked Sir Jim if I could run a couple of rolls of film for my portfolio. True gent that he is, Jim said “Sure!” even though every one was pretty tired after the 5 hour gasoline ad session. Anyhow, this is the result and it remains one of my favourite pictures to this day as it shows Sir Jim as he really was and is – a strong and generous human being who did not take himself too seriously. You are a true professional Jim, and I am eternally grateful to you for giving me this opportunity. this tee is in response to the “shit happens” tees about the place. there’s a fatalistic apathy out there, a belief that something “bigger” controls the end game that makes me really wonder (in a growly kinda way)! i know the concept of free will is one of those big (and doubtless unwinnable) debates, but come on peoples the least you can do is act as though you are an active agent in your life and that what you do and say matters!
