I have spent many rewarding and challenging / hours in the great outdoors finding and / photographing some of Australia’s wonderful wildlife. / Here I present a piece featuring a beautiful bird / of prey: the Black-shouldered Kite. I find it a striking bird with its snowy white / feathers and intense amber/orange eyes. / On a couple of occasions I have been able / to get close views of them in the wild. This was just a lucky catch. My wife got some tulips for her birthday and I took one out as the sun was setting to try a get a nice shot. I put the vase down & as soon as I turned my back I heard the hummer behind me, I turned back around and had time to get off one shot before she realized she wasn’t interested in tulips. / Captured in Cave Creek, Arizona, with a Canon 20D.
