  • Wilbur is an old, pet, potbelly pig, he belongs to a good friend, he is almost blind, he doesn’t do much getting around, but he is still a friendly little cuss. I walked up and he stood up and grinned for me. Yup, actually grinned! He is a character for sure!!

  • This curious horse was very friendly and enjoyed posing for me. I gave him a couple of handfuls of lush green grass from my side of the fence as payment for his great efforts.

  • Canon D20 – I love the veins on his face – and the concentration in his eyes.

  • Wilbur is such a character! Wilbur the Smiling Pig http://www.redbubble.com/mybubble/art/443631-6-wilbur-the-smiling-pig/edit is a friend’s pot belly pig, he is in his 20’s. This is Wilbur on a cold winter’s day buried in straw to stay warm. I would talk to him and he would grunt at me in answer , but he would not poke his head out for a new”head shot”. Makes me think this would be a great way to wish someone a cozy day!

  • Now in the Sonate. Calendar and available as cards and prints / Wilbur was an unattractive man. He lived a lonely existence above the old book, music and print shop which he kept in Davies Mews. They say that all day he drank rum, disguised as coffee from a pot, and ate leeks, artichokes and lime jelly. The wonderful things he bought and sold fascinated him, and left him with little desire for anything else in life…until one day an unusual manuscript came his way. The score was not that unusual in itself – what caught his interest was an old ink inscription down one side. It read – “Matilda Nectarines” Nth Rona Isle. Being a keen amateur geographer he quickly found an atlas and located this remote place. This did not, however, satisfy his wild curiosity and he started to research everything he could about Nth Rona and nectarines. Who was Matilda? / Why “Matilda Nectarines” ? He closed up his shop and journeyed to the very north of Scotland. About a year later a fire raged through his shop and all the valuable stock burnt to a cinder. Today, if you smell smoke and hear footsteps behind you as you walk past Davies Mews it could be the Ghost of Wilbur, the bookseller who never recovered from falling in love with the piano playing he heard in a remote cottage on the Isle of Nth Rona. • The band “On The Prowl” gave a free performance as part of the Music By Moonlight series of concerts held at the Overflow precinct of Sydney Olympic Park on the night of Saturday 7th February 2009. The photo is of their bass guitarist. / The photo was taken with a Nikon D70 camera. / I have not made this photo available for sale as an announcement was made at the concert that photos should not be taken or they would be confiscated. There was also an announcement that mobile phone should also not be used during the concert or they would be inserted in an unspecified orifice so the announcements may have been tongue-in-cheek. Nevertheless I will err on the side of caution unless I find out otherwise.

  • My creation of a shaggy dog. Was originally painted on a bedroom wall for my granddaughter and the paint kept running down the wall, creating the shaggy fur. Took a photo, and here he is.

  • Shaggy dog in the backyard checking out the butterfly. Same as Wilbur, originally painted on a bedroom wall for my granddaughter. Paint kept running down the wall to create a shaggy dog.

  • I visit a dog park frequently that is near my town of Blanchester, Ohio. This cute pig Wilbur lives next door. I thought this looked like they were telling secrets.

  • This shot was taken in early 2007, near the altar of one of Melbourne’s oldest churches. I was drawn to the fact that there were only three candles in the seven metal stands …. and then I paid closer attention to the beautiful hand-crafted work of the entire framework. The composition was dictated by the need to highlight the interesting design, as well as the added challenge of capturing the reflection of all three candles in the central bronze pole. It’s also interesting, in retrospect, to look at the core of the flames and to note that the central glow in the first two (where the wicks are bent) do not match that of the candle on the extreme right, where the wick is upright. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot without a tripod, using a Pentax K100D fitted with a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/30 sec, ISO 800, focal length 125mm. Featured in MOOD AND AMBIENCE, September 2009. IMGP8287
