a giant rhino beetle (Xylotrupes sp.) in threatening position. Baliem valley (near Wamena), Irian Jaya (Indonesian Papua).
A 3 shot HDR Panorama of Lake Dillon, CO from the East side at sunset. It had snowed all the week before and the lake was iced over, reflecting the sunset beautifully.
Going back to places I have been over and over before. Different tides reveal formations not seen before which is an incentive to visit the place over and over again…I am now looking forward to the low pressure system currently developing…interesting days ahead
Girl in Red. / Oil painting on canvas. / Original has been sold.
I apologize for neglecting RedBubble & all of you over the last few weeks. I’ve been having all sorts of software problems and have ended up having to rebuild my entire website. In the process, I came across this image taken a few weeks ago, that I kind of really like. Hope you enjoy it as well. / ~Sande / ...I at least hope you find this photo better than the awful movie that I stole its title from:)
WIld horses in Utah. Welcome to the desert of Utah. Still plenty of room for the herd to roam.
I went to take some photos of the sunset but i stayed a bit longer and I took this shot… this has less colours and looks simple…

1950 Nash Airflyte Ambassador Super; the actual license plate on this car does begin with DOA. From Wikipedia: The aerodynamic 1949 Nash “Airflyte” was the first car of an advanced design introduced by the company after the war. Its aerodynamic body shape was developed in a wind tunnel. Nils Wahlberg’s theories on reducing an automobile body’s drag coefficient resulted in a smooth shape and enclosed front fenders. Wide and low, the automobile featured more interior room than its 1948 predecessor. This thing is HUGE! Featured in Experimental Photography—thank you!
Is great isn’t it. Featuring the wonderful Marie-Therese.
A drainage pipe leeking at sunset on the Sandringham foreshore. This area is being renourished by Bayside City Council to help stabilise the foreshore cliffs which are being eroded by wave action and stormwater emanating from the car park above. As soon as I took this photo the guys on the constuction equipment came over and started working on it maybe because of the low tide. Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens with Polarising, Grad and ND4 Cokin Filters. Didn’t really have to do anything to the photo apart from remove some spots, I think it’s time for a sensor clean! Best Viewed Large This particular image, for me, exemplifies the area around Tucson, Arizona, as I saw it. Vast expanses of land with the MOST amazing, sharp mountains rising up from the flatlands. Cactus and other colorful vegetation happily growing away in the harsh climate … subtle beauty everywhere. Image taken on the afternoon of April 17, 2009 from the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, looking across the Avra Valley … Saguaro cactus pointing toward the clear blue skies. Nikon D40x with the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens and the cp filter. Shutter 1/250, aperture 5.3, exposure 0.00, iso 200. Orton post processing in Photoshop.
Lincoln Cathedral (in full The Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln, or sometimes St. Mary’s Cathedral) is a historic Anglican cathedral in Lincoln in England and seat of the Diocese of Lincoln in the Church of England. It was reputedly the tallest building in the world for nearly a quarter of a millennium (1300–1549), though this height has been questioned.[1] The central spire collapsed in 1549 and was not rebuilt. It is highly regarded by architectural scholars; the eminent Victorian writer John Ruskin declared, “I have always held… that the cathedral of Lincoln is out and out the most precious piece of architecture in the British Isles and roughly speaking worth any two other cathedrals we have.” Canon 5DMK2 / F16 / ISO 100 / 24mm / HDR / Handheld / 1 Raw File Split Into 3 / Tonemapped in Photomatix
Canon 50d, iso 800, no flsah, 10-22, handheld. What a fantastico little find this was. i tried flash but he gave me an angry Venetian stare, so i had to bump the iso upto 800, and have a very small f number. I spent ages zooming in and exploring all the little details in this scene, all with there own litlle story. Im going to rework this when i get back home
