On a recent holiday in the Canaries I saw lots of buildings like this, I half expected Clint Eastwood to trot round the corner on a horse wearing his poncho!. Apparently alot of the Spagetti Westerns were filmed in the Canaries.

The village of Barichara nestled in the hill country of Santander state in Colombia is awash with color and well-preserved colonial architecture. Two kinds of rock are used in the artistry of this quaint town. One is a darker yellow-orange color which is harder and apt for construction, including walls, gates, foundations and even the narrow streets of the town. The other is a lighter creamy color of a softer texture and used for artistic carvings. Similar to many towns in rural Colombia and characteristic of its colonial history are the white walls of the buildings and courtyards in this 400 year old town. /

I took this photograph on a day out in the Yorkshire Dales not sure of it’s use now but I thought it looked cute. Quite a good quality shed to have a sash window in it!. Alot of barns/sheds/houses are painted with a white paint called whitewash in the Dales.I have been experimenting in PS, please leave a comment as I have not used these filters before.
