One word that describes the architecture of Whitehall is “venerable”. And from an artist’s viewpoint, the light and shading effects on these ‘corridors of power’ makes an interesting subject for a sketch. During a recent holiday to England, I visited the central area of London. / Great Scotland Yard Street is a few steps away from Trafalgar Square. I liked the pattern of sunlight and shadows in the narrow thoroughfare and this inspired me to create this drawing using pen and ink, plus coloured pencil for shading.
BEST VIEWED LARGE!!!! This piece of fantastic Abstract Art appeared on a 50 foot X 20 foot wall near Leeds City train station. I dont think the building is getting used at present. The wall is normally White with quite a few chips and scratches and the odd bit of childish graffitti written. So when i was strolling by one day, this vibrant pinky-purple beauty lept out from the wall and said ‘look at me, im freshly done, and look fantastic!!’ so what else could i do except get my camera out and take lots of photographs. I think is a real stunning piece of abstract art, and you cant miss it, as this was a white wall and now the colour jumps out in front of you and demands you look… / i have took a section of the art and put it with the contrasting white wall and lamp postt i dont know anything about this art. i dont know who, what , how or when it was created

This is a resteruant we passed (in a moving bus no less) on the way to trafalger Sq,.in London.
This is a section of wall that is only about 1 year old. / It is part of the re-furbished ‘Leeds Waterfront’, along the River Aire, Leeds city centre. / The wall has been like this for ages. / This wall is surrounded by 4 or 5 new buildings. / As all building work has ceased in Leeds as the moment, i wonder if its ever going to be smoothed over or just left. / I see the Art in it, but im sure most people will just see an untidy mess….

As we wandered the streets, we happened upon this magnificent building, which is the headquarters of the Department of Health in the UK. I was drawn to the beautiful use of color, along with the arrangement of the windows. Image captured September 14th, 2007 / Copyright Flicker Light Studio™
