During a twilight stroll through the forum, we happened upon this live performance of a Greek tragedy. / Can you believe this photo is taken in 2006 AD? One could easily argue for, say, 206 BC! Visit our online collection to view more photographs in our Rome gallery
B&W film shot. This photo was taken in Leaura’s Everglade Gardens in the Blue Mountains. It is one of a series of photos I took in an appropriated pre-raphealite style which was inspired by Greek & Roman art, with the main emphasis being on aesthetics of both the human form and architecture and the relationship between them represented through art.
I think we all tend to need a little make believe in our lives.

The peristyle around Palazzo Ducale in Venice, Italy, where one finds tourists and locals alike – idling time, strolling, reading a book, or just resting. The colonnade, complete with rows of gothic columns and arches, the marble patterned floor, and the grilled arch windows render an unusual depth to the scene. Place visited nearly in an astral projection. / Somewhere, perfectly – a land where you don’t have to walk (there’s silence and an air of solitude), but only slide. (Melzi D’Eril Manor, Bellagio, Como lake, Italy)
Magnolia Ridge, a plantation in St. Landry Parish, is one of my favorite places to stroll and enjoy the outdoors. The owners are gracious enough to open the spacious grounds and gardens to the public, free of charge. It’s a great place to visit.

One of the reasons I love Redbubble so much, is the inspiration that other artists give me. Some time ago my australian mate Michael Bermingham posted Old Yanchep Inn which to me is a timeless classic. Then Shelly Hiebert posted Sacred which is just a fantastic image. I always wanted to get a shot similar to both of those and digging through my archives back to 2007, I came across this image I took with my Nikon D50 in the Madison State Capitol building. A little HDR processing, converted to B&W, little noise reduction applied, some Dodge & Burn (which Kimberly Palmer first introduced me to) and this is what I came up with. Please also look at Michael’s and Shelly’s image, as well as Kimberly’s work.

This is not the same shot as Tipsy . It’s a similar point of view, zoomed out a bit, but the focus is not at the same place. Here it’s on the first egg in front, whereas in the other shot, it’s on the third egg. I also inverted the colour, and flipped it horizontally to make a contrasting set.
