Doubtful Sound, Fiordland, New Zealand on a beautiful sunny winter day. This was just after a large dump of snow in the area. Despite the sunny sky it was very cold – you can see the ice on the surface of the water in this shot.
Ever wonder where those little guys get their caps from? Here’s one just about ready to pop off and become a head-warmer! It is of course the state flower of California, Eschscholzia californica, or California Poppy. What I loved about this image most was the diagonal line made by the petal ready to be unfurled under the cap. Also nice colour contrasts between the orange, red, white, green of the poppy and the blue of the background daisies. Velvia scan
“White Caps” are usually a term for Choppy Seas; or a small wave breaking offshore as a result of the action of strong winds. / Here the clouds seem to have a Choppy Sky in which to float, giving them White Caps. / Best Viewed Large

This is the Damon on a T-shirt T-shirt In fact, this is the Damon on a T-shirt whilst wearing a T-shirt T-shirt. Marketing could be a problem! This is almost pure photo manipulation, from a photo that I took of him in late December or early January. It was a candid shot – he just tends to look like a dangerous thug lol Especially if you are about to eat his starchy side dish! Anyway, he’s my nephew and, and .. and . .I thought it was a wholly appropriate use for the picture, so there! (Now that I am putting in the tags: remind me, later, to make a series of t-shirts called Thug Dangerous! )
Illustrator / 2009 An homage to that famous poster from the 70s. Only, this little polar bear is the one in trouble now.
