Red Bubble, a homage toJames McNeill Whistler’s Arrangement in Grey and Black. / I don’t know how he did it, I’m seeing spots after staring at black, grey and white for so long. / Although the original was in oils, this is in pastel on a linen paper to give the texture, then a rev in ps. The gorgeous reference model is courtesy of lisa-jen and James Whistler. / Image copyright © 2008 Shanina Conway. / Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited

Autumn Heat – from Whistler Village, BC Canada. This tree, and many others in the area looked as though they had been set aflame.
Second attempt at an HDR images which is composed of 3 images. Took this image last week as we were walking in the Whistler Golf Course as once the season is over, the open up the area and plenty of people come and chill, walk their dog and enjoy the views, Figured this would be a great chance to hunt around and try and find some great subject, angle etc for some HDR images as I’m still to figure out what works best. Took this with my Canon Xt, 17-35mm 2.8 lens, composed of 3 images. / Cheers / Better viewed full screen
This is a view from a plane, over the mountains near Whistler, BC, Canada. Nikon D80, Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. Camera on a monopod, set at its smallest size, bottom bit wedged between my legs and the lens wrapped in Blu-tek, to protect the perspex window of the plane. Photo is f/11 at 1/500s, -0.7ev, ISO 100.
This is an old picture that I painted, which basically gives thanks to one of my favourite artists James Abbott McNeill Whistler. He was not only a superb painter but an eccentric dandy showman who lived the role of artist. I could go on all day about Whistler’s persona, suffice to say, I included a butterfly because this was how he signed his paintings. He makes me remember how important aesthetics and skill are in art. Whistler would never put an unmade bed , urinal or a pickled fish in an gallery under the umbrella of art.
Fall colors in Whistler, B.C. add drama to Blackcomb Mountain in the background. Blackcomb & Whistler mountains are going to be host to many events during the 2010 Winter Olympics is a few short months! Nikon D200, Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens
This was taken near Pemberton, BC, / Pemberton is near to Whistler BC where next years winter Olympics will be held, / I have done nothing to this image at all,
Please see Large view Digital Pen and Ink drawing. By the way, there are 8 musicians in this funky hairdo. Look for a keyboard, horn, saxophone, drums, tuba, base-cello, cymbals and a whistler. Copyright © Richard G. Witham 2009 all rights reserved. / Contact the artist
