“When you have come to the edge of all light that you know and are about to drop off into darkness of the unknown. Faith is knowing one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.” Patrick Overton.
Did this for a new year postcard. Feel like something fun and playfull.

Not the Chinese dictator, but our lovely cat Mao :-) Here is the photo I took for reference – I am sure you’ll agree I didn’t just do a straight copy. The background is from my imagination by the way. As this seems popular I have decided to offer cards of it for sale. I have also uploaded a better scan. William Butler Yeats a few of my favourite things come together…mystery, the sea, earthy colours and textures and an overall sense of whimsicality and melancholy

I read an article in The Age this weekend about the pop-cultural dominance of Sanrio’s Hello Kitty. I couldn’t resist having a play with the title, hence the birth of Hello Pity. Had a Google search to see if this obvious play on words already existed in the interwebs, couldn’t find anything – i’d be amazed if it doesn’t exist somewhere out there. Anyhoo, it’s a little bit of whimsy to brighten up my otherwise corporate-designing day. For a short time only:)
