This one is some what experimental.. Wasn’t sure where I was heading with it but it does represent one of the simplest plants we know.. Wheat….It’s so simple and has been a staple food, well, forever! This image represents it’s timeless quality.

This is the old Westvale Barn… it was built over 100 years ago and was in use until only a few years past. Now it is scheduled for the wrecking ball. / / Canon 400d /

Featured In: / -Happy Haven-Photography / -Nostalgic Art And Photography When I was very young I developed a love for all things antique. At Christmas, when I was fourteen, my parents gave me this jug and wash basin for a gift and I was absolutely thrilled about it. I set this up on the floor by a window where the light was flooding in through lace curtains which filtered the light in a rather dappled way. By North American standards I live in a very old house and if you look closely you can see the tiny nails in the hardwood floor which was the way it was installed so long ago. There are thousands of those tiny nails in little rows in the floors here….it makes my knees sore just thinking about the fellow who had to hammer them all! :-) HollyCawfieldPhotography

This fox sneaked up on me, while I was taken pictures of something else. I had gotten a late start this morning, and didn’t think I would see any foxes that day. So, when I had my camera pointing towards a big beehive up in a tree, this fox walked up on the log. A big surprise for me when I lowered my camera, but I managed to get two good shots before he continued his morning walk. / f/8, 1/250 sec, ISO 400, focal length 300 mm. A friend and I road tripped through central South Dakota a few summers ago and got to chase this rainbow for about an hour down Highway 14. I pulled over to take this picture of the bow over a ripened wheat field with drops of rainwater still glistening on the points of the barbed wire fence.

Taken with a Nikon D70s This is a photo I took on a friends farm on a recent road trip back to the prairies in Manitoba this past summer. I was lucky to capture this as the sun was setting and it cast the most beautiful hues of gold, red, and orange on the wheat field.
Dedicated to the farmers facing the drought in Western Australia. NOTE: This is one of the few publications which I have not placed a border around it, just so card-buyers can get the choice of having a white or black background. Personally I’d go with the white =) MORE WORKS FROM MY PORTFOLIO /
