  • Handheld at 1/6s This picture was taken in manchester at night (1st March 2008), on piccadilly Gardens, on an obviously rainy day. BUT I would like to mention that manchester is not getting rained on as much as people think….(Yes I know, I’m not helping the North West’s reputation much with this picture) Part of the Urban Jungle Series “Passage of time in a concrete jungle” won / - No1 in ‘Under My Umbrella’ challenge in the ‘The Woman Photographer Your BEST Work Only* group ‘ “Passage of time in a concrete jungle” was featured / - Twice on the home page / - in the ‘featured art ‘section / - in the group A Beautiful Blur / - in the group All About Your Best Work / - in the group European Everyday Life / - in the group Experimental Photograph… / - in the group Urban Art

  • Meldon Quarry, on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, Devon, UK Taken from close to the parking area at Meldon, this is a January view of South Down, near Okehampton, on an extraordinarily clear day. It is an image which had slipped into the wrong folder when I was sorting them in the new year. (104)

  • I was initially going to use a roadmap from a part of Israel…but then I figured it would better to use Texas! Just not sure why? hmm…hehe Road map for peace The “road map” for peace is a plan to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict proposed by a “quartet” of international entities: the United States, the European Union, Russia, and the United Nations. The principles of the plan were first outlined by U.S. President George W. Bush in a speech on June 24, 2002, in which he called for an independent Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in peace: “The Roadmap represents a starting point toward achieving the vision of two states, a secure State of Israel and a viable, peaceful, democratic Palestine. It is the framework for progress towards lasting peace and security in the Middle East…” Definition from Wikipedia I never was any good at folding maps back up… / Now there is only 999 more cranes to make…till world peace!

  • This was one of the last shots taken yesterday at New Brighton on the Wirral. The lighting was great, I could not go wrong, and did not want to go home. / Taken with my D300 10-20 Sigma lens, on my Manfretto Tripod 7 Shot HDR processed in Dynamic Photo and sharpened in NX2 and saved as a jpeg.

  • Every now and then I like to “step outside” my boundary of usual subject matter and do something really different. This is one of those images. Captured outside the town of Central City, Colorado, I happened by this scene by luck, along with the other 2 cemeteries close by it. Long closed, these are the real deal “wild west’ cemeteries, long forgotten, long not seen. Looking like a scene out of the movie “Pale Rider”.....I had to photograph it. The ruts in the ground were still visible from where the old wagons used to carry the bodies up from the town. Quite an amazing place…. / Thoughts welcomed! —-John —-—-—-—-—-—-— / More of my work can be seen on my website at http://jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. • perfect anchorage
    by dinghysailor1

    US$3.99–US$91.20

We enjoyed the mellow dusk settle on this perfect anchorage with pints of beer in hand, outside the renowned Forge inn, (officially Britains remotest mainland pub). The tiny scottish hamlet of Inverie is inaccessible by road, only by sea or a demanding walk of many miles. We had crossed to the unspoilt area of the knoydart peninsula by ferry from Mallaig for some amazing walking (see the series of 3 pics on heartbeat ridge . The sights on arrival were just captivating with wildflowers galore, deer roaming gardens, peacocks roosting (see bird in a tree and I also got the precious shot of morning gems. • A ‘burn’ is the Scottish Highland name for a stream, creek or beck. On my walk through the forest, I spotted a broken branch of Rowan, with its lovely Autumnal reds, and placed it on the ledge next to the miniature waterfall. A still – life of Nature. / The water was coloured with the peat that it picks up as it flows through the hillside. / All that was missing were the fairies ! / I deliberately blurred the water, using f22 on my Canon EOS 40D, fitted with a polarising filter. • Sugar Loaf Rock
    by Paul Pichugin

    US$6.65–US$152.00

This shot was taken before the sun came up.. I went to check out the sunrise, but a storm had blown in and there was very little colour other than blue on the eastern facing coast.. so I headed over to the west coast and took some photos at Sugar Loaf Rock.. I’m very happy I did as I just love this shot! These were the actual colours captured by the camera, I haven’t photoshoped the colours at all, I’ve just adjusted the white balance down somewhat in order to exaggerate the blue that was already there.. love this shot! 3 minute exposure @ f10, ISO100 / ND400 + ND8 + ND4Grad All comments appreciated Paul Pichugin / http://www.paulmp.com.au

/ “Kikin’ Dust” was selected as one of the winners in the UK, Liverpool Biannual 2008 Digital Show. Digital Art: Bronc training a fresh horse. / Note: All my digital art work is executed entirely with my mouse and Photoshop Elements’ brushes. It takes hours of concentration, patience and self control. Especially when the mouse wants to go right and you need it to go left! *When this happens , I reluctantly leave my office and go for a stroll in my garden. / That usually takes care of the problem and then, I get back to work :) *

  • Josey For George...
    by Susan Bergstrom

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Had a request a few months ago from George Gantt, one of the hosts of The Wild West Show Group ... for a portrait of Josey Wales (Clint Eastwood)....This is for you George! This is a Prismacolor Pencil, Pen and Ink and just a bit of Pastel Pencil. / Drawn on card stock, acid free, smooth bonded, artist drawing paper. I have also shown the steps I go through to achieve my drawings. This is for my art students that are using my RB site for study….and for all of you here at RB who may have wondered what my process is. First I draw a detailed graphite line drawing ( I love to draw so this is a fun part for me) and then I go in and play in the shadows. I tell my students to try and play in the shadows for as long a they can…this “grounds” the drawing and keeps everything in perspective…at least for me… Next, I develope the face…I feel if the face does not turn out…what is the point…I find lots of my students go to other less demanding areas to start…it turns out great and then they suffer the anexity of composing the face. This is when the left brain can start hollering VERY LOUD to put the pencils down and quit. This is why I ALWAYS do the face first. After I am satisfied with the face in its early form… I now feel that I can start my way through the rest of the drawing. Going back into the shadows and grounding the rest of the portrait. Then it is just a tighting up process…defining my colors, going in with the high-lights to seal the drawing. / Total drawing time is about 4 hours, less if I don’t find myself fighting with what colors to blend to get the effect I desire…some drawings feel like they draw themselves, others can challenge everything I feel I know. / Josey was a joy… / Thanks for viewing my art.
