Dear all. As we have received much kindness and giving towards the / Moore family, we have enough pledges towards a print to give. We will list all those who donate to both the print and to the emergency help fund, which will either go in the memorial book, or with the print. This is a fantastic reflection on you, who have demonstrated the caring nature of this community. Many people have expressed disappointment in not being able to make their contribution, so I researched and found a way to do so on paypal. (also inc’d in the previous journal entry.) There are a number of unexpected expenses the family has incurred due to the event, such as the Careflight helicopter coming out, and time off work. These things put an added pressure on a family at times such as these. The paypal system is easy, using their email address, which is family@origoblue.com.au Account name Glen Moore The link to paypal is here All ways of contributing to the family are greatly appreciated, and really make a difference to their lives. It is a really positive way to help someone when you’re not sure ‘what you can do”-here is another way. Thank you all for your generosity. kind regards xsunset

  • So, if it’s just a camera, and just a tree . . . couldn’t be art, right? It was work. And freezing rain, and my camera isn’t sealed against that. It was also a gift; my girlfriend got home from work and had this framed and printed on watercolor paper. Then I borrowed $40 from her for a couple of rocks. Joke. I borrowed $20 for tequila. I now come back about a year later. The OnOne edge frame effects are tacky junk, tricks for people who need tricks. That will be removed when I can find the file. (I’m going through about 250,000 images, 2/3rds of which are exposure bracketing and need to be tossed; the remainder need to be named something identifiable. Life ain’t easy, but . . . the only way to get out of the game is worse than playing the game.) I think, without the edge frame efects, this will stand on it’s own. I could be wrong, God knows I’ve made a mistake in my life before. Only one though.

  • When his time was over the palms lay where they fell. / As they ate together he told his friends farewell. / Jesus, though you cried out for some other end, / love could only choose a cross / when out life began again. Secretly they planned it, with money changing hands; / in the quiet garden a kiss betrayed their man. / Priests and elders tried him. Soldiers crowned him king. / We were in the crowd that day / when our life began again. Women wept to see him; he said, ‘Don’t weep for me.’ / May laughed and mocked him: ‘Forgive them, they don’t see.’ / Jesus, please forgive me, you know what I am; / I was one who nailed your hands / when our life began again. There was one who asked you, ‘Remember me this day.’ / Jsus, when I’m dying, remember me that way’ / when my life is over, be with me, my friend, / lilke the thief upon the cross, / when out life began again. words and music © Robin Mann When I saw these palm branches discarded, this song immediately came to mind; I simply had to put the two together.
