  • Well it’s Joe. “Normally you would not do this to the underside of a car”, or at least that’s what Joe told me that day but I needed some light in his alley garage so as he wanted to have a smoke anyway he lit up this torch and then we went to work on this car, except we didn’t touch it, really mister, your car is fine.

  • The guys that built this beauty were from BC Canada and alot of fun to talk to, the tig welding on this frame was flawless… A Vroom with a view!!! Get your motors runnin, head out on the highway…

  • A couple of welding booths, each with blast doors and exhaust systems for air. The individual sodium lights in each gave them such a nice orange glow.

  • Fire in the Water ….. Salvage dive operations in full swing, captured at the 2009 Norfolk Harborfest. This was a neat demo to watch, from the donning of the antique dive gear, to the metal being cut by an underwater torch. This easily would have looked just like this in 1930 or so. Best viewed in Large. Taken with Nikon D300 and Sigma 50-500mm. Single RAW image processed through ReDynaMix for a slight HDR look, dodge and burn applied through CS3.

  • Captured at the 2009 Harborfest in Norfolk, VA. This was taken during an underwater dive demo, the crew of the Salvageship Cromo, demonstrated the techniques of cutting steel underwater while wearing an antique but 100% functional dive suit and helmet. Best viewed in LARGE for sure!
