  • Heres no. 3… Enjoy!

  • Graphically enhanced digital manipulation using photographs taken last year in my caretaking duties for the museum I live in and love.

  • I did this when I was at college (high school in NZ) I think I was feeling a little pressured and intimidated by the approach of adulthood responsibility

  • Fun concept with a little dig at the Beauty industry ;) as skin is unzipped to reveal the heart and seeds of the Fruit.

  • I’m not sure where I was going with this. I found some bananas and cool retro scales when I was raiding Larry’s kitchen looking for lollies and decided to use them in a photo. Actually, I may have been finding a reason to shoot Lauralie’s gorgeous shoes. I’m not usually a fan of studio shooting, but I must say I enjoyed how few photos I took versus how many shots I was happy with. So something about it agreed with me.

  • self portrait

  • ...and the sign on the wall says it all… / how is that a positive message… special thanks to Siena for not eating the extra large donuts until the end

  • Two seagull feathers, each of equal importance.

  • Moss / Shot with a Canon EFS 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. As is.

  • Another self-portrait for my photography final, “Fragmented Self-Image”. I think the idea is pretty obvious…I used to have an eating disorder, I don’t any more, but the mentality that I need to stay thin and fit still remains and this is my interpretation of that. To post this alone takes me a lot of courage because I am still very, very uncomfortable with my body.

  • The Abbey Road album cover by The Beatles.

  • Close up of a Dandelion flower head. Black & white picture.

  • Weight Watchers International Folks.. this good looking Dromedary (Camel) and I met in May 2007 .. near the Egyptian Pyramids of Gizeh ..at the outskirts of Cairo / This fellow was standing next to my Touring Bus and his Master .. the Camel driver wanted him to kneel down .. most of the time the Camels do that under loud protesting.. as we can see so clearly here.. So.. to show some sympathy I offered him A piece of Cake In PaintShopPro X2 some changes.. removed the BG for neutral black and frame added Thanks for popping in Folks / Regards / John Camera Canon 30D / ISO 400 / F 6.53 / 1/500

  • Just playing around in PSP with a photo of my daughter Kassidy in a pensive mood, I couldn’t help but think how she looked old beyond her years, and she made me think of the Child Empress in The Neverending Story I and how she had the weight of the world on her shoulders. A little tweaking and playing with several different photos and this is the result! :) All resources used my own, taken on my Canon Powershot A480 point and shoot. A little help from the generous Trisste for a slight emphasis on the lashes. • The Weight of Chains They don’t always clank, these chains. Not like in the ghost stories. / They don’t always warn you of the evil in the room. / Sometimes they whisper, lovers close by your ear, cupping your chin and promising fidelity. / Sometimes they chatter, chipmunks in the grass, warning of predators. / Sometimes they coax you to wear them, grifters at your feet, telling tales of riches. They weigh on you, these chains. / You think you wear none? / Do you believe? / Do you hope? / Do you love? / Do you dream? / Do you eat? / Do you sleep? / Do you hate? / Do you envy? / Are you human? / Then you are in chains. / Break free of all of them and you’re dead. / Some are better than others, though. / Chains of love can weigh light like the flutter of an eyelash. / Chains of hope can weigh so little they carry you to other worlds. But some chains will crush you before you can feel them. / Hate. / Prejudice. / Those chains have no mercy. And some weigh what you weigh. They are you, your body. You feel them only when you fight them. Weightless, then? / Only at peace. I didn’t plan to upload this today because I’m behind in visiting you guys and replying, and I don’t want anyone to think I’m being rude. But I need to get it off my computer before I panic and throw it out. It’s YELLING at me. Well, OK, not really. But it’s a visceral reaction I’m having. It’s making me want to tear apart my life and rebuild it in better ways. Wow. Anyway, it’s seven photo images and some digital painting, combined and edited in Photoshop Elements 3. /

  • To be honest I can’t recall what I was thinking in this shot, except for I knew I wanted a pretty dress, and to have my feetl dangling over this half wall. There was nothing dark about the image I was setting out to create. Through the processing it took on a very dark feel, which is something I love about the post processing in photoshop. I feel the pictures often direct me on where they want to go. After I was finished this image was the exact opposite of what I was going for. Much better and packed with emotion. I love when that happens. Interestingly enough I think my sub conscience was working to express my feelings. Not literally of course, but this photograph has deep meaning to me metaphorically speaking.

  • *The spider web is an amazing piece of engineering and seen so much better with these water drops to emphasize the shape and connections of all parts of it. The weight of water beads on a spider web gives the web a graceful curve. *
