By: DALE CRUM Oh, if humans only knew what trees know. / History has walked--loved-and killed / Around them-under them-and in them / Oh, if we could plug headphones into a knot / Oh, if we could sit in their shade and listen—not talk / Oh, how feeble and foolish is this creature called man / They do whisper in the quiet morning breeze / They do show the brevity of man in autumn / In the transition from life unto death / The glory and splendor of that next life / For in their passing, the leaves become most radiant / They raise their voices in hues of flame and passion / Then sling them to the whim of the winter winds / Burial mounds do gather beneath their feet / Man only sees the toil of the raking / By storm do the trees warn by tapping windows / By beating on roofs / By crashing onto cars / By ripping down the wires of lightening / The trees do not always whisper / Perhaps wisdom would be to listen more closely / That they not be compelled to raise their voices? / DC This one has my own eye in it. I drew the tear in by hand—it was really tricky to make it look real. I created this using only my own original photos. VIEW LARGE PLEASE :=} These statues are called the ‘Weeping Women’ located on the top of the colonnade in the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The weeping women were created by the sculptor Ulric Ellerhusen. The point of the statues was to express the sadness and melancholy of life without art.

And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish. Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” ~1 Samuel 10-11 Stock Credits: / Woman by pieceofmestock.deviantart.com / Keys by bazzlestock.deviantart.com

Jesus says: For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. ~Mark 11:23 Digital Mixed Media Compiled in Photoshop CS2

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 / For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: / a time to be born, and a time to die; / a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; / a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; / a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; / a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; / a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; / a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; / a time for war, and a time for peace.

The Weeping Birch is a real winner! In summer these beauties act as mini air conditioners. I’ve spent many summers resting in the cool shade under this one or the many others that feature in ‘Howells Garden’ John’s Korumburra garden paradise.
