Superb views extend as far as the summits of the Vosges Mountains in France and the Black Forest in Germany. The Great Aletsch Glacier, at 22 km the longest ice-stream in the Alps, begins on the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe.

I began to climb when we got the region..And then, I climbed around 5000 ft.. Then the mist began.. So I had to stop climbing cause it was getting risky and I dont like making mistakes “in purpose”.. I waited around 10 mins but saw the mist was coming up on me.. So I gave up and decided to go back down.. :)) This time it didnt want me to climb.. So I got back and after 5 mins, storm began with the wind.. :(( (anyways, I did the right ) / In this week we will try again and again… Although we get the forecast from the satellite, it doesnt somehow match (or it changes too fast) :)) I keep posting them in serie :) / This one is one of the first shots when I got to region.. / Well I keep trying :)) TAke Care All :)) / Region Arhavi -TURKEY

LWatching the hail storm in Havertown, PA. March 2009

This storm occurred 21/12/06 approx 60km north of Adelaide tracking SE from the northern gulf region, and i intercepted near a town called Dublin, just along the Port Wakefield Hwy. The Bureau of Meteorology labelled this dangerous storm and developed into a defined squall line. The image is comprised of 9 exposures stitched together, and was taken briefly before i was pelted with mud, wheat husks and probably sheep poo. I witnessed imbedded gustnadoes on the leading edge, severe wind gusts i would estimate over 120km/h, 2cm hail and lightning every second. The storm weakened as it progressed to the northern suburbs as i pushed on further north, however the second line wasn’t as fruitful.

See this Visitor Upon the Winds? / His arm shatters mountains, / His breath twists oceans. See this Visitor Upon the Winds? / His mission is destruction. / Ferocity is his life. See this Visitor Upon the Winds? / He doesn’t see you. / Or care. We’re under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning right now…not the worst thing, and it looks like things should be OK. But I’ve been in a tornado (just a small one) and I’ve witnessed a boat founder in a waterspout. This image is dedicated to all the people who have fallen victim to the incredible destruction caused by these Visitors Upon the Winds. This image is an edited fractal that I painted. It’s the first time I’ve tried to do a painting of a figure on a fractal (although I’ve added lots of brushstrokes to add shapes and colors to fractals). I’m waaaaaaaay out of my comfort-zone with this one, so I hope someone likes it! / / / / /

This is the view that greets you as you climb out of Teesdale and look across the head of Weardale. The distance looks small. it is just the small matter of the odd steep decline, hairpin bend, sheep with tyre headbutting tendencies, lost ramblers, motorbikes with broken speed dials, cyclists with broken brakes,mobile homes pitched for a tea break and the odd strong gust of wind wanting you to join Dorothy. One this day, the wind was a tad on the strong side, OK the photographer was standing at a 38degree angle to try and hold the camera steady, but as you can see, the sun was determined to puncture the clouds and rain with the odd burst of light, through which ghosts of rainbows moved with the speed of light as the clouds chased the light from the valley in the wind.
