This is one of my Australian Native Stingless Bees, taking out the garbage. I have a hive in my back yard and these little girls are a constant source of fascination for me. They are about 5mm long and move around very quickly. This was taken with my Nikon D70, Tamron 90mm Macro + a 36mm Kenko extension tube.

Darkness or Light, up or down, hell or heaven? / Or do you believe without darkness no light? Do you believe in one afterlife instead of two different places? Do up and down bring you eventually all to the same place? Enc. A4 / Hotplate. Poem written by Sally Omar There are so many CHOICES / From within are the voices / CHOICES of ascending / Or descending / We have the CHOICES of light / Or the forever darkness of night / We can sin if we need / And forever our hearts bleed / Live a life of goodness and charity / A heart so happy / We can love Him / Or the devil and sin / Then we can tell / Is it Heaven or Hell / The place up above / Songs of a dove / Or darkness and despair / Living in the hole nowhere / Where do you go / Only you know / Choose so much love to give / So much hate to live / Hear the voice / Make the right CHOICE Martin Steinbrugger also wrote a poem after seeing “Choises” / Please check out Martin’s Art Thank you Martin for your beautifull gift! Beyond the Gate Growing in faith is like climbing a set of stairs… / Although the steps maybe steep, / Each step we take, allows us to become more, “faith,” aware. No turning to the left or right, / The choices are really only two… / Take the next step up, or not! / The choice after all, depends on you? Faith can become stagnate by dwelling at a preconceived safe plateau, / Yet, the misperceptions of a temporal mind are but a gate, / Believing only in, self-control. Preconceived obstructions, serve only to test and strengthen our faith… / Sadly those who turn back, / Never enter in or even see the beauty that comes, / When living, “Beyond the Gate.” / “MLS”

A Wax Lip Orchid – Glossodia Major taken on Mt Barker Summit. The sun was catching it at just the right angle, giving it this wonderful metallic look.
This was taken around 5pm Here in Huntington, West Virginia December 2008, i was taking sunset pictures when i noticed this among the trees and decided it would be a fun HDR. The waxing crescent moon can be seen soon after sunset low in the West. Although it rises in the East a little after Sunrise, you can’t see it because it is too close to the Sun during the day. The best time to see a waxing crescent moon is on the second and third days after New Moon when the crescent is fatter and brighter, and further from the Sun. Taken with a Nikon D40 18-135 Raw format, Edited with PSCS3 and HDR work done with Photomatix Pro.

I love these little native Australian “Geraldton Wax” flowers …so very tiny at only a little over 1.5 cm in diameter, the little ‘fuzzies’ on the end of the stamen are barely even visible to the naked eye. Canon EOS 7D / Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro Lens / f/2.8 ISO 100 Shutter Speed 1.6 sec / (NO post processing)
Encaustic painting combined with the past….
