Seemingly ever watchful on the Venice’s Grand Canal these Gondolas seem to be on guard for income tourist as the morning mist starts to disappear in to the day.
Storm signals off the coast of Venice as I travel to my hotel in a water taxi and view one of the most memorable events of my trip white light coming through a wall of gray clouds creating a visual effect on a small island off of Venice.
taken on the 4th before the fireworks
What a sky to see in the rear view mirror….It was a put the car in park morning….and follow the light. Taken on the Currituck sound side of Bell’s Island, North Carolina.

Captured this am getting ready to leave for work. I loved how the end rocks (point) of Bell’s Island, NC looked like an arrow pointing at the intercoastal waterway. I debated removing the old duck blind in the distance…but decided it should stay.
Filling up a glass of water and noticed this out of the kitchen window. Literally ran outside with a t-shirt and slippers on to get this before it went. First few shots were a golden amber in color then it went to this before it disappeared. Only snapped about 30 bracketed shots before it was gone. Gonna go a repot my orchid while this is uploading (and I finished it, thanks dial-up). Hope you like it. Please critique… print available here and on my website. natural design is definitely a favorite subject for me . Hope you enjoy . Captures take in fort Myers, waters, Florida USA . Florida has so many great places to paddle. No state can match its variety of water – lakes, inlets, lagoons, rivers, streams, springs, ocean and a gulf – accessible 365 days a year! And, there seems no better way to explore this vast network of water than by canoe. It’s easy to cast away your cares and find peace and relaxation among Florida’s matchless beauty – there’s nothing like the quiet of Mother Nature to soothe and give you a fresh outlook on things. An added bonus is the many opportunities to see wildlife along the way – white and blue herons, turtles, alligators, and sandhill cranes to name a few. So, pack a picnic and test your spirit of adventure… discover the “real” Florida. Almost 50 of Florida’s State Parks permit canoing, with over half of those offering equipment rentals, so no matter where you are in the state, chances are you are close to water. Here are some of the more popular locations for setting out on your adventure… source of info
Lake Kochelsee and German Alps. / I live here, this lake belongs to my community / village (1 km from my home). / I come (by foot) almost once weekly for a walk to this coast / shoreline of the lake, relaxing a bit, enjoying nature, and mostly taking some photos. The theatre of nature is unbeleivable, everything changing all the time, no day is like the other, each time I come it is a different spectacle of nature: the light, the shadows, the reflections, the sky, the clouds, the mood, the ambience, the weather, etc., each time it is all completely different. / Bavaria – Oberbayern. / South Upper Bavaria – Bad Tölz Region / Germany Nikon D90 DSLR and AF-S 18-105G ED VR / Treatment in Gimp 2.6 (RAW), PSE7 and Photomatix 2.4 / Single shot HDR from one RAW Featured in HDR Photography 10/10/2009 / Featured in Lakes & Inland Waterways 09/17/2009 / Featured in The Beauty of the European Waters 08/31/2009 / Featured in Stillness Speaks 08/30/2009 / Featured in Live and Let Live – October 2009

Another week in the Riverland and visited the Noora Salt Interception basin three mornings in a row. Joined by Smarti77 and Dave Hartley and it was only on the last morning that the clouds and rising sun created the beautiful soft colours and shapes in this shot. Noora is a back water off the River Murray main where the water is heavily salty and dead gum trees from a distant past stand in silent vigil. This area is located between Berri and Renmark in the Riverland of South Australia. Canon 400D 17-85 lens with Pro Polarising filter. My apologies to those of you who I have not been able to visit lately, time now back home will see me catch up I hope!

I searched the internet for a really long exposure of Tahquamenon Falls but couldn’t find one. So I figured that my first real shot with my new 10 stop filter would be of this amazing falls. This is a blend of 3 long exposure shots.
