Thank you hosts! “Sweet Pelican” is my first featured digital photograph and I am glad that it was this one. This pelican was so sweet and social. Thanks again!

I miss the bush so much, i only ever get to go out there few times each year and only for roughly a week or so each time. Magpie geese are a common bird i see whenever i go there around the billabongs, which inspired me to draw this. i couldn’t draw the water to well so it looks more like a lake than a billabong, and i never got around to doing a sky.

I took this not knowing the mallard pair or the robin were in the background.
I took this photo at Barr Lake State Park in Colorado – this Mama Goose was staying close to her nest – but she kept it a secret from us (good mother).
This Goose was swimming back & forth just wanting its picture taken. / I have used this as my screen saver ! / I used my Nikon D-40x. with 200 mm long lens. / mounted on a tripod. / f / 7.1 / 1/800 sec. / 116mm.
Goose in Penang Malaysia
I was fortunate to spot this subject watching me wander the river looking for herons. I am sure she would have been amused and doubtless telling other of her “hidden” friends how foolish I looked. The joke was on her though, as I was able to shoot several pictures before she fled. / This was taken at the Heron Rookery in Michigan City Indiana on 1 August 2009 with a Nikon D40 and a Nikkor ED AF 2.8 80-200 mm lens.

This pair of Australasian Grebe’s were busy building and making their nest look just right for the arrival of their chicks :o) Of course, being safety conscious…this nest was in the middle of a pond which did make it difficult to get a close-up image.
