I love my morning walks a lot, especially at dawn.
Perfect day, perfect wind. 1167 views as of 11 Dec 09
Corio Bay, Eastern Beach – Geelong. / I had me some time to stop for a few quick shots on the way to work this morning. Lucky to have such a clean surface on the water, the wind really chopped it up by this arvo. / I was particularly drawn by the criss-crossing of the wires and how they reflected on the water. For the record, it’s a HDR comp.
“Serene Seas” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Taken at the Whitsunday Islands, Queensland, Australia. “Somewhere beyond the sea / Somewhere waiting for me / My lover stands on golden sands / And watches the ships that go sailin” “Somewhere beyond the sea / She’s there watching for me / If I could fly like birds on high / Then straight to her arms / I’d go sailin’.” / ~ Bobby Darin

/ / Island Dreams Media – pencil and photoshop / Substrate – paper Dedication – to Jack during my recent holiday I had time to relax and meditate, to connect with nature….this is an expression of my impression of Tangalooma. There are dolphins there, with whom i connected daily and a lot of sealife, including birds, seastars, rays, fish…. the original drawing is gifted to Jack, a fellow artist i met on Tangalooma and now friend, who really appreciated this drawing so much, that I felt greatly encouraged….
Please note. / This has had no HDR processing. The St Germans viaduct in Cornwall, UK, which spans the Lynher River that flows 106 feet below. / The viaduct was built in the 1850’s, and the Lynher River is a tributary of the Tamar River. Imagine how nice it would be you be able to sail your yacht under those magnificent arches. Hope you like it. / Thank you for looking. Best Viewed Large.
TAKEN IN CHICAGO ON LAKE MICHIGAN, IN THE MAIN HARBOUR. I LOVE THE LAKE AREA OF CHICAGO BECAUSE OF BEAUTIFUL SCENES LIKE THIS ONE. IM A SUCKER FOR REFLECTIONS, AD I JUST COULDNT RESIST TAKIG THIS
Two yachts race up the mouth of the Hunter River into Newcastle Harbour, New South Wales. The image was captured with a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot and then processed in Paint Shop Pro. I duplicated the original layer and applied a number of filters to it to make it resemble an impressionist painting. I then tweaked the tones to highlight certain parts of the scene.
Yes I know, another sunset shot of the Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland, Australia. I just can’t help myself, I love this time of day and place, and I have to say, this afternoons sunset was the best yet. I honestly had to desaturate this shot. It was amazing orange, everything around you was glowing orange, the sky lit up!! My wife even said at the time, she had never seen anything like it. Canon 50D, 10mm, 20% desaturate, as the raw was just too orange… Available Large, and best viewed Large.. The full size print of this can be 1.5 metres x 1 metre.
St Mary’s loch in the beautiful scottish borders with a ripple of wind approaching… More practice driving my new tripod… (L plates on…) The walk along the lovely loch is part of the great coast to coast route the southern upland way ... Cheers / :)) Nikon D60 / Nikkor VR lens 18-200 / UV filter f/11 / 1/200sec / -0.7step / 18mm
Lonely ship…
Dana Point docks at night are a beautiful sight to see. But Take it too the next level and its unbeliveable.
oil on canvas / 80cm x 90cm / I have just come from the BAA awards night, and while I didn’t receive an award (even though I wore my lucky eiffel tower earrings!), this painting did seem to generate a lot of interest from the viewing public…there was at one stage, two men standing in front of it, pointing to this and that in the painting, a bit of wild gesticulation…my husband sidled over to eavesdrop…all positive. there was certainly someone in front of it at every point in the evening! / / /

After long waiting for the right sunset to photograph the “Mariah”, a customers boat, yesterday afternoon was perfect! A huge fire on North Shore gave it more character with the thick smoke. As I was shooting this scene, some kids playing on the beach behind me screamed out “Mummy mummy, the sky is on fire”, and went running back for her protection. Was so cute :) Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland, Australia. Canon 50D, 10mm. Available Large and best viewed Large!
