  • Sugar Loaf Rock
    by Paul Pichugin

    US$6.65–US$152.00

    This shot was taken before the sun came up.. I went to check out the sunrise, but a storm had blown in and there was very little colour other than blue on the eastern facing coast.. so I headed over to the west coast and took some photos at Sugar Loaf Rock.. I’m very happy I did as I just love this shot! These were the actual colours captured by the camera, I haven’t photoshoped the colours at all, I’ve just adjusted the white balance down somewhat in order to exaggerate the blue that was already there.. love this shot! 3 minute exposure @ f10, ISO100 / ND400 + ND8 + ND4Grad All comments appreciated Paul Pichugin / http://www.paulmp.com.au

  • A ‘burn’ is the Scottish Highland name for a stream, creek or beck. On my walk through the forest, I spotted a broken branch of Rowan, with its lovely Autumnal reds, and placed it on the ledge next to the miniature waterfall. A still – life of Nature. / The water was coloured with the peat that it picks up as it flows through the hillside. / All that was missing were the fairies ! / I deliberately blurred the water, using f22 on my Canon EOS 40D, fitted with a polarising filter. • on the fading light of the dusk i shine. / i cannot be held and hold no shape. / you will know me by your heart / and i will reflect moonlight on ocean’s lap. / i will move you, flow between you / and wash you to earth with mysteries. / and you will ever know me by the western shore.

    Under the pier at Cowes, Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia at Dawn. Taken at the same time as Beginning of a new day for something a little bit different.   • This is for Mike, one of the weather guys on the Cocos Islands. Everyday we would ask him what the forecast was, and everyday he would reply “Mostly fine, chance of a shower”! I guess this was the “chance of a shower” bit! Mike is a great guy with lots of wonderful stories from his time spent living all around Australia.     Multnomah Falls, Oregon, USA, Taken Summer Vacation 2007 Multnomah Falls is a waterfall on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge, located east of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson, along the Historic Columbia River Highway. The falls drops in two major steps, split into an upper falls of 542 feet (165 m) and a lower falls of 69 feet (21 m), with a gradual 9 foot (3 m) drop in elevation between the two, so the total height of the waterfall is conventionally given as 620 feet (189 m). Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in the State of Oregon. / The Multnomah Creek Bridge on the Historic Columbia River Highway. / Colorized picture of the waterfall before the footbridge was addedUnderground springs from Larch Mountain are the year-round source of water for the waterfall, augmented by spring runoff from the mountain’s snowpack and rainwater during the other seasons. A foot trail leads to Benson Footbridge, a 45-foot (14 m)-long footbridge that allows visitors to cross 105 feet (32 m) above the lower cascade. The trail continues to a platform at the top of the upper falls, the Larch Mountain Lookout, where visitors get a bird’s-eye view of the Columbia Gorge and also of “Little Multnomah”, a small cascade slightly upstream from the “upper” falls, which is not visible from ground level. The footbridge is named after Simon Benson, who had the bridge built in 1914.[1] Photo taken by Canon IXUS My work is copyrighted and does not belong to the Public Domain Copyright:All Rights Reserved / Registered:Mon Mar 23 21:30:17 UTC 2009 / Fingerprint:Show digital fingerprint / d8131b583587455963e4e871bab7088b06eb562ff73f80d69f8e2defe4f7f042 / Title:Serenity / Description:Photo of Multnomah Falls Oregon USA / MCN:CB372-797DF-ED9B6 “Serenity” FEATURED FOR RB Homepage…...Thankyou so much RB:):):) / Plus…one of the top Ten in ‘The Best of Oregon” Challenge:):):) And ‘CONGRATULATIONS!!” To all the contestants and everyone who made the Top Ten:):) Proudly Taken By a Canon IXUS….Canon Simply the Best:=}

  • There has been one sale of this image. In November 2008 this image was featured in the group, Buyers R Us. In February 2009, this image placed third in the U.S. Parks Wildlife Shots challenge hosted by the AMERICA’s National Parks and WILDLIFE Habitat group. A thousand Yellowstone wonders are calling, ‘Look up and down and round about you! John Muir – 1898 The temperatures were in the single digits on this cold, snowy January morning at West Thumb Geyser Basin, which is one of the smallest geyser basins in Yellowstone. A incredibly scenic area along the shore of Yellowstone Lake, West Thumb only has a small amount of geyser activity. However, the basin more than makes up for it with its diversity. Despite its small size, it has paint/mud pots, hot springs, pools, lake shore geysers, and fumaroles. Fumaroles are small openings that release steam and other gasses. You can see in the foreground the muddy, soupy waters inundating the paint pots. The white area beyond the tree line in the right hand side of the photograph is Yellowstone Lake. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please don’t copy or download this image. by Melissa Ellison

    US$3.99–US$91.20

    The Valley of the Waters is @ Wentworth Falls In the Blue Mountains. The Valley of the Waters may be reached by a direct walking track, which descends steeply through temperate rainforest. Cool, moist, shady conditions prevail, and the area is a rich wildlife habitat. / Apart from the regular bushwalkers, you are likely to meet wetsuit-clad abseilers who like to take a more direct, and wet, route down the numerous waterfalls. / From the valley, National Pass takes the walker to the Wentworth Falls, then back up the cliffs to the village. / The Nature Track, & other cliff-top routes, make a good alternative for walkers who prefer to avoid the strenuous climb in and out of the valley. • Romance West Virginia
    by CraigsMom

    US$3.99–US$91.20

    One of our favorite campgrounds has this lovely little pond. I happened to catch it just right that day. You had to drive several miles on a very narrow twising road through the moutains of West Virginia to get there. Very nerve wracking, especially when you are pulling a trailer. Oh, and “Romance” is actually the name of the town! • The Last Flight
    by Andy Mueller IPA

    US$4.32–US$98.80

    Sort of a bittersweet moment, apparently the West Coast Demo team will no longer perform at airshows with the F-15. To mark the “retirement” this F-15 was hosed down by two firetrucks as it returned from it’s last tactical flight demo. Nikon D300, Sigma 50-500mm.

  • Derby Jetty
    by chriso

    US$4.32–US$98.80

    The colours of the sunset here are tremendous. It is a pleasure to watch the changing colours long after the sun sets, the lights come on and all the other sunset watchers leave (before the best bit!!!). This is the second night we spent in Derby. I have also uploaded the shot from the first night but can’t decide which I prefer. The colours were different on the two nights due to fire in the area.
