This painting is watercolour on paper. / This a semi abstract view of swimming aids in a hotel pool I was struck by the arrangement and the colour, all reflected in the pool, backed up by reflections of the hotel. This is a mixture of watercolour and pastel and is of the Wansbeck, a local river where we spent most of our childhood – a time of wartime restrictions and no home entertainment beyond board games. In those days we fished for food rather than sport. Regardless, it was great fun.
Coal drops at Benwell, Newcastle upon Tyne, early Victorian era. / In the Thomas Hair style, 1830’s. HB pencil and watercolour. 140lb paper.

I’ve got something with eye’s and flowers, as you will notice when I upload more work. This one is, clearly, inspired by the Tarot card with the same name. It’s a 100% watercolour painting. I wanted to join up with a surrealism group here, but I’m not sure if this would fit in there. I always call it surrealism, but isn’t it more somewhere on the borderline between surrealism and fantasy art? With this I’ve introduced the 3 main areas of my artistic endeavors on to RB: still life photography, travel photography and watercolor paintings. I’m calling it a day. / Cheers detail at 100% / more work / I would also like to focus your attention on RosaCobos incredibly beautiful and inspirational comment on this painting: / I can see that he sees…. / I can feel that he is there waiting to open the egg of his own destiny. / But The Foold has not a destiny and he knows it! / The Eye…. peeing wide and wild the intensity of Life, / hidden behing the feminity of the flower..is tender and penetrating, / but not as much as he would love.. / noone takes him seriously, / excepting the wise.. / for you know. that famous quote…”The Fool that persists in his foolishness…..becomes wise”…....just I ponder about it.. and how come the wise can notice this…if his own wisedom makes him disregard such a vanity? the card /
Completed 2004 age 18 I was inspired by the Japanese artist Hiroshi Senju, who tends to limit his colors in his paintings. Sometimes he paints an image where the background is the complimentary colors of the subject. His style is simple but at the same time intense, where the foreground stands out from the complimentary background. Medium: Watercolors This is a painting done in my sketchbook. The paper isn’t watercolor paper, but at least more durable than regular printing paper. Painted from an 1880’s photo, of the fishing port of Whitby on the North East coast of England. Here, laid up, is the collier brig, ‘Opal’. The ruins of the priory, immortalised by Bram Stoker’s Dracula, can be seen on the hill. My first pen and watercolour work. Watercolour washes over a pencil drawing, then finished in ink. Hannemuhle, 200lb paper 7”x 8”.
The painting is based on a photo I took on Dartmoor a few years ago. The light was fantastic and I’ve expanded on that to create this vibrant landscape.
With my brand new travel set of ‘brilliant’ watercolours, I experimented using a very quick wet on wet wash to capture an impression of a glorious pink sunset flung over the hills and reflected in the river.
/ “Reflected Glory” is part of the Landscape Collection”... Inspired by Joseph Turner. Lindisfarne Priory and Castle, In Northumberland, (near where I live), as a storm rolls in, from the ever-moody, North Sea! Watercolour on 90lb paper 12”x 8” I loved painting this, and will do a much larger one, in the future.
/ “The Summer Knows” Is part of the Fall Collection....loose and free watercolour on Arches Paper…This painting is also part of the Lake of the Woods, Northern Ontario Series… The summer smiles, the summer knows / And unashamed, she sheds her clothes / The summer smoothes the restless sky / And lovingly she warms the sand on which you lie. The summer knows, the summer’s wise / She sees the doubts within your eyes / And so she takes her summer time / Tells the moon to wait and the sun to linger / Twists the world ‘round her summer finger / Lets you see the wonder of her arms. And if you’ve learned your lessons well / There’s little more for her to tell / One last caress, it’s time to dress for fall... UDO sings it for you… /

Morning Light World English Bible / Yahweh make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. From the ‘Connection Series’, this is a pencil drawing, coloured with aquacolour crayons on paper… i have played around with this quite a bit in photoshop also, applying layers and more colour to enrich the overall look When i ponder this, it gives me a feeling of hope, like after the mourning, there is morning and the sun comes out again….. It’s all about our connection with nature and other lofty things :)
This is the second of my new series of boat paintings. / This painting is watercolour on paper. Image size, 42×46 cms.
