Here the gentle flow of the waters as they cascade over the face of the rock. Feel the cool mist as it envelopes your whole being. See the softness of the silky veil as it flows over the harsh rock. Let these waters calm you. Let them carry all your stress away as they journey on their way. Release the tension built up in you as the water releases itself over the face of the cliff. Let the hand of nature touch and relax you. Powlett River is the spot our illustrous government has told us we will build the southern hemispheres largest desalination plant. There has been no consultation or environmental impact studies just an announcement of what will happen. Needless to say this move to convert a wilderness and pastoral area into a pollution guzzling industrial estate is not being well recieved. To run this $3,200,000,000 plant an additional 1,200,000,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases will be released into the atmosphere each year plus it will pollute the local marine environment at a rate of 7,000litres a second which will obviously alter and possibly (some say definitely) destroy the local marine environment. This will in turn force the Philip Island Seal and Fairy Penguin (Parade) population to look for better feeding grounds risking the $75,000,000 a year that tourists spend visiting these natural attractions. On top of that the site for the plant as you can see is absolutely gorgeous (it’s 200m from where I took this photo). To find out more visit your water your say 100% of profits from this image will go to the, your water your say action group fighting fund (I’ve put the margin up more than usual as the donation thing is kind of pointless unless there’s a bit of money in it). “The Big Bay”, taken at Oka Provincial Park, Quebec, on Tuesday July 29/08. This area, which has an observation tower , a boardwalk, and hiking trails, is best know as a blue heron nesting place. Called a heronry it is ranked as one of the two largest in Quebec. It is protected by legislation respecting the conservation and development of wildlife. / Unfortunately we did not see any that day….
The Boardwalk in Oka Provincial Park taken Tuesday July 29 2008. Situated in the La Grande Baie area. It is at the end of a walking path that leads to this beautiful boardwalk on the lake.
I photographed this majestic blue heron in Point Lobos State Reserve in CA. It is fascinating to watch this bird standing on a floating log, for hours, waiting for the right moment to catch a passing fish. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- I will donate 50% of all proceeds from the sale of this image and the ones below to the American Bird Conservancy Consider these images as companions! / And the T-Shirt below

I’m not entirely sure how I did this. I know I took away the background from the tiny Small Copper butterfly, perched it on some leaves floating in the lake & fiddled with some layer stuff. It’s just for fun, not a serious attempt at layering, but it’s a beginning. The butterfly should have a reflection, one day it might, if I can figure it out. I don’t think I can do this again as it was all just playing and I can’t remember the sequence of events, but who knows where it will lead? / 011208 / PSE7 This sky where we live / Is no place to lose your wings. / So love, love, love. / Hafiz حافظ Human beings are members of a whole, / In creation of one essence and soul. / If one member is afflicted with pain, / Other members uneasy will remain. / If you have no sympathy for human pain, / The name of human you cannot retain. / Saadi “Of one Essence is the human race, / thus has Creation put the base; / One Limb impacted is sufficient / For all Others to feel the Mace ” / —Saadi (1184–1283) “There is only one sacred manuscript, the sacred manuscript of Nature, which alone can enlighten the reader.” Hazrat Inayat Khan All profits from my sales will be donated to Butterfly Conservation.
