Hi all, Some of you may already know how this works, but for those who don’t and would like to have this feature on your profile page; here is a quick tutorial on how you can do this. 1. You will first want to design or pick something out that you wish to use, you can even add to your selected pick add me or add me to your watchlist with text on the subject; however you wish to design this (Your choice) make sure to save this, just make sure that you don’t make your photo or button to big. 2. You will then upload this to your art selection, making sure that you choose the box on the bottom of your page called hide this work from others; located under the set publication options. 3. Now Click Save Changes. 4. Once this has uploaded, your new image will show up with the words on the bottom of it that says not published, and this is alright; this shows that this is hidden to all others. 5. Now you will want to right click with your mouse on this image, and then left click properties. 6. Next you will hold your left mouse down while highlighting the Address Url 7. Once highlight, let go of your left mouse and right click and then left click again on copy and then OK. 8. Now that you have your image chose, lets go to MyBubble at the top of your page. 9. When your welcome page comes up, you will then go to the right side of your page under Things you can do; and lets click on Edit your profile. 10. Now you should be at your Edit Your Profile Page. 11. We will now scroll down to the About you box. 12. You will then be adding your chosen image to this area by simply chosing where you want to put it. 13. Once you have chosen your location, you will right click your mouse and then left click Paste. 14. Remember you will want to add an exclamation mark right before and right after this Address Url without any spaces at all for your image to show up. 15. Your image should now be on your profile page, but lets check and make sure. 16. We can simply do this by going to the right side of your profile page once again under the Things You Can Do List and clicking on View your public profile. 17. Is it there? Good Job 18. I Did this and it didn’t show up – Go back and make sure you did each step correctly. Moving On To Get This Baby To Work 19. Now that we have our image for our button on our page, we now want to go here on our main Profile page and we will simply scroll down to where we see Add to your watchlist (ha, you will see your name after add, but there are too many to list here). 20. Now we will put out cursor right on top of these words and simply right click your mouse, going down to properties. 21. Left click on properties and another box will pop up. 822. We will now want to do as we did before, and simply hold down your left mouse key while highlighting over your address Url.8 23. Now that we have highlighted the address url, we will again right click your mouse and then left click copy and OK. 24. Now lets go back to My Bubble and edit your profile. 25. Now we should be on our Edit Your Profile Page 26. Yes I made it this far – Good Job / _ I can’t understand this – Please Go to the beginnig and simply follow each step_ 27. *Now right behind where you added your image you will want to type colon directly behind the last exclamation mark, and then right click on your mouse and then left click paste. And save changes… 28. Wait though… Does it work? Well lets go see… 29. Lets click on View Your Public Profile, which again is located to the right of your Profile page. 30. AW! There is all of my beautiful work that I have been working so hard on, boy my page is really looking awesome. Yes indeed my friend it is… 31. Now lets scroll down to your image button that you have made and put here, and simply left click with your mouse on your image, and this should take you to your add me. 32. If you have reached this, you have done done an Excellent Job if not then please simply go back to the beginning of this tutorial and do it step by step from the beginning to the end. I DO HOPE THAT THIS TUTORIAL HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL TO YOU ALL, FOR THE ONES OF YOU THAT CHOOSE TO USE IT. SOME MAY AND SOME MAY NOT. ~GOOD LUCK WITH ENHANCING YOUR PROFILE ~A

  • has RB gotten so big, or are folks getting petty?

we all know we love RB, if we didnt we wouldnt be here / we all know we LOVE comments and views on our work / but…when people start having to apologize for not returning comments, exactly what does it mean? has RB gotten so big with so much work added that we cant keep up? or does it mean..the only reason we give a comment is because something is expected in return? i do ask the members of the Shots in the Fog group, instead of worrying about telling me thanks for the comments..find another person in the group and give THEM a comment! Pass It On! i know they appreciate the comments, i dont need them to tell me thanks to confirm it. seeing them passing it on..is a “thanks” enough for me / i know my activity monitor moves 2pages per day, due to my favs on my watchlist adding new works, journals, and writings. / i know for the past 3wks its taken a few hours to just to try to ketchup!! when i could be here. / i comment on a person’s work because that work MOVED Me to comment, not because i expect someone to comment back. yes the return comments are appreciated, but NOT expected. / I add to my watchlist because i LIKE the person’s work!! not because i expect them to add me to their watchlist. / it really bothers me some that are complaining about others being rude, or the threat of..ill remove you if you dont comment back. what is that all about???? / yes we are here to support each other and get our work out. but you must give Everyone the benefit of the doubt, they might not be able to make it onto the site, they are busy with their work as well, who knows, but it shouldnt matter. / so before you comment on a persons’s work..think about what You are expecting from it. are you commenting because the work moved you to comment? or are you expecting something in return? i want EVERYONE to know, who ever has commented and added me to their watchlist, i am very honored my work has moved you enough to do that, i appreciate every comment made. and wish like hell i could return EVERY one of them. / those who have removed me, well im sorry you felt that way, that i didnt meet your “expectations”. crazy me, thought meeting anyone’s expectations would be to upload work that is pleasurable to view, and who knows..buy? so before you go chastising others because they might not be as active as you’re able to be on the site. think about why they arent responding, or maybe they are passing it on? so lets rethink the reason we comment. let it be because work moved you and expect nothing in return. dont let it turn out to be the if you dont comment on every shot, i wont comment. thats how we end up turning into other sites we all have left and RB isnt like ANY other site on the internet, that is what makes it so Awesome so thanks to everyone who has kept me on their watchlist / thanks for all the support and comments / i am honored to call You friends! and i DO plan on catching up!

I knew that would get your attention…..... / Just changed the title as everybody knows which group I am referring to! How would you feel if you wanted to join a group and they decided that your work was not good enough for you to be part of the group? If you then looked at the works of that groups members and couldn’t see anything of theirs that was better than your own work? I have read a few journal entries recently and this is happening to people more and more fellow artists. What are the criteria for joining such a group of superior beings? / Is there a training course and an exam? Nope / A minimum qualification? Nope / The number of favourites? Nope / A number of views? Nope / Or maybe a fee to pay? (maybe soon, crossing palms with gold normally works) The criteria it seems is just the judgement of another person or persons, somebody who has his or her own motives. Art is in the eye of the viewer and what one person thinks is good another might think is total garbage. I thought redbubble was a community where people were helpful and would give others sincere comments and perhaps some tips on how and where to improve, it does seem that I was mistaken in some cases, these people have their own goals and agenda. I guess that goal would be selling their art to other artists on redbubble, yep the people they have probably refused entry into their group hmmmmmm. Line removed at the request of Redbubble Maybe I should start a group and let my members put letters after their name ………. This journal entry will be forgotten in a day or maybe two, I would like some feedback, do you agree? Have you been refused by any group? Are you in a group like this and want to defend it? Maybe I am totally wrong, it has been known. Maybe I have been removed off everyone’s watchlist…. Hello is there anybody there? by Paul Gibbons MFI CSI B&Q CP3O

If YOU are one of the people I am watching (on my watchlist) PLEASE check this promotional page on my website to see if you are listed. Check the images and the links, and the spelling of your name to be sure they are correct. If you are on the page and don’t want to be, please bubble mail me and I’ll take you off. If you want to change the image on the page to another, please bubblemail me with the link to the image you want used. If you want your real name to appear along with your nic, also bubblemail me. If my name appears in your “whose watching you list” and you DON’T show up on my page, please let me know. It’s easy to miss someone when you’re dealing with constant additions. Although my personal opinion is that “no right click” scripts are fairly useless in the way of protection, I have added it to the page for those that think it’s helpful. Anything else…please leave a comment :)

MY NEW RED BUBBLE GALLERY SHOP IS CALLED MIGALOOMAGIC….please don’t forget to WATCHLIST me over THERE / I’ve been busy with a new concept…. / I wanted to bring parents something special to help them connect with their children… / I am busy creating a series of digital wall art, especially for children…for their bedrooms. My new gallery on Red Bubble is called migaloomagic / So far, i only have one piece of art there….but I am excited to show you anyway!! This is a gallery which I hope will provide gifts for children, for their bedrooms, for their birthdays…...I hope that it will bring parents closer to their children by helping them remember to tell their children stories, you know – the old fashioned kind of stories….the ones you just make up on the spot….. When the kids say….’tell us a story mum/dad/aunty/uncle/guardian/carer” i hope that you as a parent will gain an inspirational thought or two, from glancing up on the wall and seeing these whales or some other little idea from my artwork…to help you along :D Hugs to all, / Karin :D

If you are on my watchlist it is because I enjoy your work and would view it no matter where I have found it. There are some that have not yet posted work but I will wait for them to post because I have known them from other sites or at least I think I do. I take a new browser window (thank God for tabs) and I open every person that I have on my watchlist into that browser window. As I am rendering a work or have a few moments I go through each tab with the goal to view each artist at least once a month. Many that are on my watchlist inspire me to do better and I thank them for that, some have even become very good friends. I do have a bit of a soft spot for digital artists (go figure right) because I can actually visualize how a work may have been created or as I look at a piece visualize how I could have created the piece. I also do understand the technical aspects and appreciate the process. I will thank each person that comments on my work via bubblemail. I may see work that I want to comment upon at that moment then I will. I have been on many sites where it becomes an “I scratch your back if you scratch mine” when that becomes the main purpose of the site then the site is doomed in my opinion. Again I thank everyone for commenting on my work and making this refugee from Aren’t Wanted and Ihobby feel welcome.

  • Doll Face
    by Jennifer Woodward

    US$5.04–US$134.52

The Doll’s head in this artwork was manufactured in 1890 by a French company called Eden bebe (pronounced Bee-bee). The head is made of Bisque Porcelain, and the body would have been made from goat’s skin. The makers used to sow half-way up the arms to make an elbow joint. The doll would also have had hair, but unfortunately, this is now missing. I find these porcelain dolls a bit creepy (too many horror movies) and think this comes out in this piece! I plan to write up a tutorial for this work (if I can understand the notes I made!). The tutorial will only work with the original photograph, so I will be offering this also to those who would like to have a go. All I ask for those who are interested, is that you link my profile to your final work :-) The tutorial will be available in the forum of the group A Photographer’s Craft If you’re interested, add me to your watchlist as I’ll be writing a journal to let you know when it’s ready. There is also a wonderful gallery, The Gift of Art. Artworks have been offered by the members of A Photographers Craft, and all proceeds will be donated to charity – well worth a look. Many thanks, jen :-) Photography and editing by Jennifer Woodward © 2008 Some of my other works – click on an image to view

Ok… I will make art / I will make art / I will make art Well, there is a mounting tide of people who have been telling me that i have become slack of late. This isn’t exactly true, although i have been somewhat busy with work outside the bubble and that can be draining at times. Now i did actually have a change of my thought process, and i was going to just upload just my favs and the ones i thought were most sucessful…but it seems people want a little more ‘no frills’ action so i have decided that i will throw up one new work every two days for the next two months…clearing the decks, or at least my harddrive. Yes… i have 30 odd works on the go sitting on my computer… So you will get the good, the bad and the ugly! (You asked for it) This will hopefully give people a continuity of where im at and going… some will be experimentation and a little different…some may not be 100% resolved and could become works in progress…also showing my hit and miss ratio…Ha…So do be gentle! Anyway thats the deal…So look out! / peace! / G

I received a message that said the cards I purchased from my Favorites are on their way! When I signed up with RedBubble a little over a month ago, I found a great resource and a way to let the artists know how much I appreciate their work. I don’t have enough empty wall space for anything new, but I enjoy sending cards. I want you to know of my gesture of support and have listed the photos and artists who caught my eye. As a small token of appreciation I bought the cards listed below. Know that if I like your work, I will add it to my Favorites and buy it as a card. I’m beginning to plan a promotional page for my website to feature people from Red Bubble who are on my watchlist. The page will be somewhat similar purpose-wise to the FP Photographer’s page on my site but instead of images being in a slideshow they will be on the page at a small thumb size (maybe 200 pixels or somewhat smaller) and below the image the Artists name and link to their gallery on RedBubble. To do that of course I need an image thumb from your gallery to upload to my site. Would you be willing to let me use one of your images that way? It’s important that you let let me know – either way. I have no problem putting a watermark over it if you like, but the small size (200 pixels) and small resolution (it will be 72 pixel res) would make it useless to most ‘takers’. I have a lot of people on my watchlist here so this could take a while – I can’t find any way to bubblemail everyone at once. NOTE: a couple of people mentioned my watchlist gets my journal so at least I don’t have bubblemail everyone :D Gracey Uh, there might be a few who aren’t on my watchlist that I should’ve had on – hard to get to everyone so forgive me those who’re missed. If I commented on your work and you’re not on my list (ie you didn’t get this journal or your “My Bubble” page, send me an email anyways.

Did I mention to you that I’ve only just started a watchlist of my own – yes all this time on RB and no watchlist. Goodness knows how many images I’ve missed because I wasn’t watching… I have now amended this for several reasons. 1. Last week, I saw the most blilliantest (yes, that’s a word – it means more brilliant than even brilliant) image of a building in Rome. I should have favourited it, I know. I asked several RB’ers in the forum to help me look for it, to no avail. I should have favourited it, and I should have added that artist to a watchlist – but I didn’t. If you know this image, can you find it for me? 2. I’m going to be really busy in the life I lead outside RB, incredible, I know. Obviously an oversight on my part, and I don’t want to miss out on all the fun and games that will go on here while I’m busy. The Real Life will take me away from the bubble until 24th December. I’ll still add the odd image and have a look, but it won’t be with the same level of obsession I have for RB at the moment. I think you all know what I mean…everyone here has the same disease… the withdrawal symptons are showing already, even as I type… 3. I’ve noticed there is a new soapie that’s just started, and if you haven’t read it – You Must – it’s laugh out loud stuff, complete with links to images so that people like me can match the pictures in our head to those in real life. Have you added it to your watchlist? If not, I’ll provide you with links - / It’s written by Andrew Walker and you’ll find the complete set of Soap Bubble episodes here . So, as Molly Meldrum would say, do yourselves a favour and go check it out – you won’t be sorry. In fact, add Andrew to your watchlist so you don’t miss out on the epsidoes – we all need lightness and frivolity in our lives, and the Soap Bubble that in bucketloads! 4. I had no idea just how much fun a watchlist would be, I’m sure I’ll need to add more to my watchlist, but which ones to choose…Hmmm.

There are some really cool people here on this site. I probably say that far too often… but hey, journals are for one’s own thoughts! I can’t help it… I just haven’t ran across any meanspirited or rude people yet, just nice helpful ones like Peter and others. The staff must be doing a good job to have such a wonderful place to converse, display your work, and just have fun!! Ms. German’s writings of far off places are so vivid, that you can imagine actually being there. My opinion of the art of photography has taken the proverbial 180!! My watchlist has people from all over the world. It is so neat. I just love it!!
