  • As promised – the new illustration on t-shirt. Works nicely don’t you think? Wear it with pride and spread the word of environmental awareness – or just pretend you are a bad-ass with a penchant for skulls…

  • A late night inspired Hopper-esque revisiting of the juggernaut Wal-Mart. I think about limiting the environmental footprint that I have, turning off lights, recycling, converting to compact flourescents, learning how to properly dispose of them and other electronic and computer items (which take a horrible toll on landfills) – then walk into a Wal-Mart and am overwhelmed by a sickening sea of flourescent light banks and a seemingly endless tidal wave of excessive packaging and outright pointless shit. I’ll do more that convey that emotion, but got my start here.

  • I was hoping for some reflections in the lake but frustratingly* it was all ruffled! I found these rocks to cover the spot where the reflections would be! * / I say frustratingly because there was not a breath of wind and it was very misty. Not at all like the weather forecast the night before! I’d set off from home at 4.30am arriving at Wasdale at 7.30am just as the sun rose! I then left to meet up with Alan (Tall Guy) near Loweswater.

  • Actually, its a sculpture made from waste and its at The Eden Project! However, there is a lesson in it for all of us… that our waste will devour us all one day unless we learn to live more frugally. How to do this is something I don’t have all the answers to, but unless we all try together then our Garden of Eden will become a wasteland. I decided some Photoshop work would make the monster more frightening… hope I succeeded!

  • Huge Collage made from different parts of calendars from all over the world, which I used to collect. It measured 400cm X 400cm. The background is large cardboard boxes joined together with white bonding glue. The cut up pieces of calendars, were glued also with white bonding glue, which turns transparent, when it dries. The collage being so large was left in four pieces and put together on sight.

  • I sort of lost a day yesterday, I think because it was cold and gloomy and I didn’t wan to do much of anything. And then this morning I thought ; what a waste that was! Hence the title of this piece I did this morning. Our lives are too short to waste in self indulgence so as of today I vow to never let a day pass me by. Woman’s image courtesy of Flickr Commons ( they have some great free images there) / Smoke brush courtesy of Photo Shop free brush downloads / Lots of other bits by me

  • A gatehouse at an abandoned steel mill An interesting music video that seemed to fit my mood where I took the title from Lackawanna, NY Leica V-Lux 1 /

  • This is my dog Bailey the bearded collie @ Wast Water in the Lake District, Cumbria. This scene was voted Britains best view on a recent TV program, I hope I have done it justice. The best part about this place is the drive there if you take the Hard Knott Pass, great fun and views. Canon 5D Mk2 / F16 / ISO 100

  • One of a series of fog shots I took last winter. Reminded me of the first of the Narnia books and the lantern that Lucy finds.

  • I decided to create this piece because I have been sitting in all day waiting for a package from Fed Ex to be delivered. You know, the ones where you have to sign for it and they give you a 10 hour window for delivery. So I didn’t want to waste my time doing menial things like cleaning the dust bunnies and doing laundry. I think this was time well spent myself!

[canon 1000D, tamron 18-200mm, 12 very annoying people labouriously removed, numerous layers & blend modes, threw in a couple of textures to help with the tones, as well a smidge of cyan…. & finished with a vignette] Featured – Art By Bubble Hosts – November 2009 Featured – War – December 2009 Featured – Dimensions – December 2009 / / Vol 21, December 2009
