HMS Warrior is a nineteenth century ironclad. She’s a beautiful vessel moored permanently within the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth. I pass her every day on the way into work and she never fails to give me a little lift. When I was coming home and the sunset was looking so gorgeous, I couldn’t resist missing my ferry home for this shot!

I am a gentle creature from time to time. But there is another side. So YOU want to mess with my pack, my friends. You have judged the cover without knowing the heart. So here I was in my den taking it easy and minding my own business. Then my inner spirit spoke to me and said something was wrong. I felt it inside and I was right. So I am waiting, and when the time is right. Now you have awakened the Warrior within, mess with one, mess with us all. Yeah this look is for YOU! Remember it, because the next time you will not see my face. Cheer up Selina!!!

Looks like I am into a sort of Japanese period ore something. / You know like Picasso and his blue period (no comparison though). / But I am positive thickblackoutline and her fantasy world has got something to do with it. / Even though I must admit I find samurai dead cool. / Maybe that’s the reason I keep returning to these eastern sword fighters again and again. / Anyhow this time around I must say I am very pleased with the way it turned out. / I managed to keep it down to a minimum with the details. / Just the most necessary to indicate what needed indicating, the rest is left to the relief…. / Enjoy my friends. The Warrior Dreams Of Home. Three digital photographs made into an atmospheric digital montage. The image looked like one from the minds eye, and that got my imagination going. The pose of the lady on the left suggested anguish and longing, so that inspired the title.

I always get the best ideas while I’m travelling through foreign countries and continents…....the colourful people I meet, the sights and sounds of nature , the emotions that swirl around me – all of those things are sifted through my being, to reborn later on the canvas I create – like this image ! This one is an original acrylic painting on canvas , size 60 cm / 70 cm . I’ve been working in acrylic over thirty years , it’s still one of my favourite medias.
