Spotted some horses in a field on the way to work yesterday, the sun was just coming through the mist, had to go turn round and go back to have a look and came away with a couple of nice shots. There was a thick frost on the ground, real crisp winter morning Thanks to Richard Shepherd for the title.

I traveled through several tunnels in and around Pittsburgh, Pa. and don’t remember if this is the Squirrel Hill Tunnel or Fort Pitt Tunnel. / Since I took photos of all the tunnels we drove through I can’t be entirely positive but I’m 99% certain this is the Fort Pitt Tunnel (downtown Pittsburgh). No PhotoShop was used in this image except to bump the contrast a bit and crop out part of the windshield wipers. Before adding contrast the original image was more beige in color and the black ceiling had some “grid lines.” / Maybe someone from PA can definately identify it. I do know it is not the Liberty Tunnel (“Liberty Tubes” – as we used to call them). Equipment: / Nikon D200 / Nikor Lens 18-200mm Settings: / Auto Mode / ISO – 125 / Focal Length: 18mm / Exposure Time: 1/5 sec / F-Number: F/3.5 / No Flash Auto Vehicle Mode: / Headlights On / Approx. 50mph :-)

This one of our local Churcches, taken on a damp dark day, sort of the right day for churches and grave yards. Almost desaturated it to darken the feel.

This graveyard is really creepy, so many of the graves are opening up!! many are starting to sink into the ground, very eerie in the fog.

The Rotunda was started in 1739, the year of Thomas Wentworth’s death and completed by his son William Wentworth in 1742. It is a round Ionick temple, based on the temple of Hercules at Tivoli, near Rome. / I remember visiting this in the grounds of Stainborough Castle, South Yorkshire with my Dad when i was about 9 or 10 years old and went back this weekend to find restoration has been started, as i remember it was in a bad state with no roof and overgrown with trees and no door so you could walk inside, as you can see it has had some much needed care and attention.
