  • Panorama – Seattle waterfront skyline, downtown, Puget Sound, Pacific Northwest

  • This was taken in Miramichi, New Brunswick. The old Ferry would transport people from “Old Ferry road” in Douglastown to Chatham until shortly after they built the Centennial bridge in 1967. Now remains burned pieces of wood and bolts. This was one of my favorite places when I was younger, I would sit and often write poems there. -Fuji S5200 *All proceeds of sales are donated to the Hope Animal Shelter Please check out my other gallery here at RedBubble, Macabrecat , for my cat photography. • Camera Details: / Nikon D70s , Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 DC Location: / Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, The Netherlands Map: / Road Map , Terrain , Satellite Copyright: / © Brendan Schoon , All rights reserved. Background Information: / The Erasmusbrug (“Erasmus Bridge”) is a cable stayed bridge across the Nieuwe Maas river, linking the northern and southern halves of the city of Rotterdam, Netherlands. / The Erasmusbrug was designed by Ben van Berkel and completed in 1996. The 808 metre long bridge has a 139 metre-high asymmetrical pylon, earning the bridge its nickname of “The Swan”. The southern span of the bridge has a 89 metre long bascule bridge for ships that cannot pass under the bridge. The bascule bridge is the largest and heaviest in West Europe and has the largest panel of its type in the world. The bridge was officially opened by Queen Beatrix on September 6, 1996, having cost 165 million Dutch guilders (about 75 million euros) to construct. Shortly after the bridge opened to traffic in October 1996, it was discovered the bridge would swing under particularly strong wind conditions. To reduce the trembling, stronger shock dampers were installed. The bridge was featured in the 1998 Jackie Chan film Who Am I? In 2005 several planes flew underneath the bridge as part of the “Red Bull Air Race”. In 2005, the bridge served as the backdrop for a performance by Dj Tiësto titled “Tiësto @ The Bridge, Rotterdam”. The performance featured fire fighting ships spraying jets of water into the air in front of the bridge, a fireworks barge launching fireworks beside the bridge, and multi colored spot/search lights attached to the bridge itself. • Meet Joe. Joe started out his life as one of the first tugs operated by the up-start Foss Tug Company—now one of the largest tug companies in the Pacific Northwest. Joe lives the easy life now as a private pleasure boat hanging around the Gig Harbor waterfront. The new owners have wisely kept him looking much the same as he did as a working craft (on the outside) which adds a lot to the charm of this wonderful old boy. New image old effect. /

  • Boats docked at San Francisco warf.

  • Beautiful Tall Ship sailed by my window this morning at work in Salem, MA (Pickering Warf). The ship is called “Peacemaker” and it was a spectacular sight!!!! Nikon D300 PSE 7 /

  • More than two centuries ago this place was named Sting Ray Harbour by Captain James Cook who just landed here in New Holland and caught few sting rays after a Sunday fishing trip. Renamed to Botany Bay later it is now a place of the major port in Australia, Port Botany. A number of berths for container ships and bulk liquid carriers allows for handling of around 10 million tons of various imports and exports in a year. 10 mil. tonnes that’s about 256 Sydney Harbour Bridges exported. If you are still wondering why did I say New Holland, that was the name of the continent at the time. Common for 180 years it was changed to Australia in 1824. For this picture I made a number of photographs from the tripod with different exposures and a hope that it might merge into a HDR. However, as there were many moving subjects (e.g. ship, water) it proved to be more rewarding to use the single RAW and tonemap it lightly. Numerous lights around the port created thick yellow tone on everything, so I have to reduce the color cast a bit and also enhance the contrast of some areas. Location: Port Botany, New South Wales, Australia From my photoblog at http://www.bouncedphoton.com This print is available with 0% markup. Please enjoy and thank you for your visit!
