A huge steel warehouse in the town close to where i live. It was very strange to be in this huge building with nothing in it at all, also very quiet too.
An old image which i’ve only just got around to liking. I hope you do…

16×20 colored pencil and ink on a grey matboard. Original is sold. / This was done around 20 years ago also and was an experiment. Seems I did a lot of experimenting 20 years ago!!
I think of the colors and wares to be seen in a Persian market. This is a companion piece to Ribbons. They began life as parts of the same picture, until they convinced me they each deserved a separate identity. / /

I love the Willow Pattern….. I have fond memories of finding hundreds of broken willow pattern shards buried in the dirt near my home as a young child. It was the site of an old homestead that burnt to the ground many years before my time. / I’d spend hours digging in the dirt thinking I’d found some exotic treasure…..... “Two birds flying high, / A Chinese vessel, sailing by. / A bridge with three men, sometimes four, / A willow tree, hanging o’er. / A Chinese temple, there it stands, / Built upon the river sands. / An apple tree, with apples on, / A crooked fence to end my song.” / by Mary L. Stollard The Willow Pattern was designed by Thomas Minton around 1790, & has remained popular ever since. [canon 1000D, bamboo from sxc.hu] Featured – Nostalgic Art & Photography – June 2009 /
