This is the 3rd stage of shedding…it’s next step in the circle is to climb up the tree…eat all the leaves it can…drop down to the ground to form a pupae where it’ll hatch into a little brownish moth with a reddish head. It will then go and start the process over again. / Untouched photo…taken in a local park called Forest of Friendship…..a place that has trees from all over the world that have been given to share for others to enjoy in honor of women in the aviation world. / Below is a veiw of what it once looked like.

This was taken this morning with my new camera, a Nikon Coolpix. I won’t take my husbands Canon 10D to the park as I think it’s asking for trouble. A girlie on her own with all that lovely expensive equiptment, so I’ve not really been able to take pictures of my lunchtime companions. I’ve been feeding the squirrels for the last 4 years now. There are also several other little birds and a family of crows that come for a feed also. I try not to feed the pigeons though. This was taken this morning before I started work. / This little fellow is “The Walnut Fiend”! Monkey nuts won’t do for this little chap as he likes the Walnuts much more, but at least that means he stays around to eat it instead of doing a grab ‘n’ run! / Enjoy! :)

Austin A70 Hampshire Ute

Thanks to the comments of a knowledgeable viewer, finally these photographs are correctly named! / This is the very rare Austin A70 Hampshire Ute (or PickUp), albeit a little worse for wear and completely beyond restoration. But I like it that way. This once beautiful car will hopefully rust all the way back into the ground from whence its metal and leather parts originated. (Though I plan to obtain a few parts from it next time we visit!) For now, I encourage someone to purchase these three framed images for the pleasure of seeing a historic piece of Australian history. ( Viewed here are Large Flat Frames, Walnut Frame, Off-white Matte. ) / OR / Alternatively, you can purchase them as one triptych wherein a cropped version of each of the previous images resides. ( Viewed here are Large Flat Frames, Mocha Frame, Matte to match dividing colour. ) ON WHITE / ON BLACK /

This is my little Walnut Fiend again from this morning. I just wanted to share with you how tame he and his mates are! I sit on the ground on a cushion in a bag (so I don’t get a cold, wet or dirty bum!). You can see my knee and foot in the front of the shot. He sat here for nearly 10 mins this morning stuffing his little furry face. An absolute joy to watch and experience.

This is “The Walnut Fiend”, He’s a very fussy little chap, and quite fiesty with the other squigs. The plastic lid he is standing usually is covered in walnut pieces and mixed nut pieces, but he has just had a scrap with one of the others and the bits went everywhere!! (Note pigeon in waiting!!) I usually sit on the ground on a cushion in a bag to keep clean and dry, this way I and they can get closer to one another. So yes, I WAS this close!!! :) Yesterday, he had a scrap with one of the younger ones and the young one ended up in my lap! I’m not sure who was more surprised!!!

I know this isn’t the best capture… / but i am putting it here in hopes that someone here might know who he is? / He is a new vistor in our yard. / He is a beautifully peaceful guy with lots of patience. / Thank you for the identification Mundy!,
