I think much of the east coast was treated to a superb sunrise this morning 31/03/2008. This was the sunrise on Tathra Beach about 6.50am, just across the road from our place.

This walk runs through the Melalueca forest Melaleuca armillaris between Tathra and Wallagoot just behind the beach dunes, within Bournda National Park, NSW Far South Coast, AU. My eldest daughter hates going for a walk through here: she thinks its very spooky, what bad dreams are made of! For better viewing click on ‘view larger’.

While we were waiting for nightfall to look for a family group of Yellow-bellied gliders (a threatened species in NSW) we were treated to one of the many superb sunsets across Wallagoot Lake within Bournda National Park on the NSW Far South Coast, AU. These gliders love living amongst the Monkey gum Eucalyptus cypellocarpa and Blackbutt Eucalyptus pilularis that is in the foreground. For better viewing click on view larger

This Australian Pipit Anthus australis was seen jogging on the shores of Wallagoot Lake in Bournda National Park on the NSW far south coast. These moderate sized birds (16cm) are typically seen in open grasslands and clearing, but this guy was keen to check out the dune country. Taken with a Canon EOS1000D with a 150-500 @ 500.
