  • Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The morning rush across the street from the train station and metro. Everyone jostling for space. I think it shows how hectic life can be in an Asian metropolis. / Today was my first try at using long exposures, and I felt that this was the best of the bunch from today. Any constructive criticism is welcome. I took this close-by to my home. !

  • I have always loved Sea urchins and have always collected them from when i was a child right up into adulthood. They would be the first thing I would look for when I got out of my car and my feet hit the sand on the beach. Suprisingly there arent that many to be found anymore on the beach where I have always gone to find them. sony ax 300 SLR 70 – 200ml lense.

  • The former railway line that once snaked its way fifteen kilometres from Adamstown to Belmont was originally constructed in the late 1880’s. It was used to transport coal from mines in the Lake Macquarie area to the Port of Newcastle. Evidence of some of the mines is still visible from the track. The Adamstown to Belmont Rail line helped contribute to the development of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. As well as being used for coal haulage, it was used as a passenger service between Belmont and Newcastle with stations at Kahibah, Whitebridge and Redhead. The last scheduled steam train ran in 1967 before switching to diesel and the last passenger train ran in 1971. During the 1980’s coal mines along the corridor began to close down and the line ceased to be used in 1991 with the closure of Lambton B Colliery. The railway closed in 1991, and the two Councils completed the purchase of the corridor in 1994. Shortly after, the Fernleigh Tunnel (having survived two earthquakes in 1925 and 1989) was closed to public access following an assessment of its structural condition. It has since been reopened and this is where I took this photograph.

  • In 2003 my wife, her sister, her friend and I flew to Paris. I was so excited because I had gotten a small taste of France in the ‘70s when I was stationed in Germany and had been dieing to get back. Visually a photographer’s dream shoot location. We were lost as soon as we stepped off the plane. My wife claimed she took 4 semesters of French and passed, yet when spoked to in French and I looked at her she would shrug her shoulders. So none of us spoke French. But we managed. We walked 90% of the time and I carried a back pack with a Nikon N-90s, Nikon 8008s, 20,35,50,135,180, and 500 MM lenses, tons of film, flash, tripod and my trusty Holga. (By the way, I was out of work 4 weeks recovering from a neck injury from carrying this backpack.) I had semi-planned ahead, knowing we were going to walk, for the series “A Walk Through Paris”. As we walked, I shot, crossed items off my list and we walked some more. This series was shot with a Holga camera, held together with a lot of black tape. Processed, scanned and then tinted with my custom sepia like action in Adobe Photoshop.
