  • The Auckland metropolitan area or Greater Auckland, in the North Island of New Zealand, is the largest urban area of the country. It is also New Zealand’s most populous city with approximately 1.3 million residents, over a quarter of the country’s population, and demographic trends indicate that it will continue growing faster than the rest of the country. Auckland also has the largest Polynesian population of any city in the world.Auckland lies between the Hauraki Gulf of the Pacific Ocean to the east, the low Hunua Ranges to the south-east, the Manukau Harbour to the south-west, and the Waitakere Ranges and smaller ranges to the west and north-west. The central part of the urban area occupies a narrow isthmus between the Manukau Harbour on the Tasman Sea and the Waitemata Harbour on the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the few cities in the world to have harbours on two separate major bodies of water.(Wikipedia.org)

  • This was a lovely place to walk, with the dappled light through the trees giving an almost misty effect and wonderful shadows across the lane. / Image captured near Old Sarum, Salisbury, Wiltshire

  • Main photoshop filters used -: Filter-Other-Maximum-Minimum, for that block effect.

  • A simple moment in time, life’s beauty, and a oneness with the greater world.

  • Shorncliffe Pier, Brisbane, Queensland.

  • I was the official photographer and transit driver for a group doing a sponsored walk across the North Yorkshire Moors. I took my camera of course. Whilst they were walking I had more than enough opportunities to take photos. I came across this small wood in which I took some really nice photos. I was only getting to grips with digital photography at this point, using a bridge camera. I got this shot in the wood of the path leading off into the distance. I liked it in B&W. I would like to revisit it sometime in the near future. HP PhotoSmart 945 bridge camera / f/2.8 shutter 1/60

  • I often walk these boards to reflect on my life and enjoy the traquil views along it’s path. Always with camera in hand to capture something new along the way.

  • “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door.” Mark 13:28,29 / [Jesus speaking to Peter, James, John and Andrew regarding the day He will return to the Earth. If you wish to know what else Jesus told us regarding that day, see the entire 13th chapter of Mark and 24th chapter of Matthew] I took this photo when the summer sun had just risen and was casting a golden glow….promising another hot humid day….NJ, USA, August 2009

  • Post PS work of a beautiful area along the side of the Trinity River in SE Texas…This is where we ride the golf cart to check out the river and this greenery just caught my eye… /

  • Camera in hand, I’ve been out in the woods for early morning walks most days of late. Watching the sun rise and then heading into the forest and watching the gentle rays filtering through the trees … magic … :) Sometimes I encounter joggers, or cyclists, or as was the case this morning – folk taking their best friends for walks ;) / Witnessing those early morning moments is what’s given me balance for the longer than normal hours I’ve been working in the square mile of the city … contrast, that’s for sure :) / So I thought I’d share one or two shots and then saw that there are currently 55 free days on calendars here in the Bubble … – I think an Epping Forest Calendar might have to be created tonight! :) 26 September 2009 / Canon EOS 450D, f/22 @ 53 mm, 1/13, ISO 1600
