The southerly is ripping through and we’re settling in for a rainy day. Then all the sudden the sun pops out – illuminating Bondi buildings. Got this quick snap at the right moment with a Canon 1ds MKII and 15mm Fisheye. Love the colours.

Theres a tiny village in Mid Wales called Bont Dolgadfan and this is the smallest cottage there. I used one original image and processed it in Photoshop. / Layer modes and adjustment layers were used. / Curves, levels, dodge and burn, were also utilised. / Several layers in total and a fair amount of time used. / Copyright 2007 richiedean Clickable images

An unbelievable walk in the wildest part of mid Wales, down in the depths of a remote valley, with the sound of a distant waterfall and the rasping call of a crow, I came through a tunnel of intertwining trees, until eventually emerging out, onto this path, where I noticed those eyes looking straight at me, do you see them ? When I was visiting relatives in Wrexham (North Wales), I spotted a stone head on the lawn near the library. It was decorated with mosaic. As I try not to plagiarise, I decided to draw the outline of the head and then draw it as though it was built with stones, sort of dry-wall style. As of September 2009 this has been favourited 37 times and featured 4 tiems, so I guess someone out there likes it :) I am now offering this for sale as view cards. Here is the photo I used for this drawing (I took it myself so there are no copyright issues) and I ask you to consider whether I do straight copies or, as I believe, I add some of my own style to the finished picture. This is two of the three auto exposure bracketted shots merged in photomatix. The boat moved too much in the longer exposure for that one to be useable. The Rous River is a tributary of the Tweed, and is basically surrounded by cane farms and mountains. We’re in the middle of one of the largest calderas in the world, I believe….a monster volcano from even before I was born! Canon 5D, 16-35mm at 16mm, f/10, 1/60”, ISO 50, tripod on a moving boat…

This is a traditional 18th Century farmhouse situated in Mid Wales UK. / The three doorways on the right, were access for the livestock, they occupied that half of the building, the farmer and his family lived in the other half ….... / The property is situated a mile from the main road, along a beautiful valley, where salmon fight against the river to spawn further up …......
