The vaulted ceilings of Tintern Abbey in South Wales are no longer there, but the glorious skeleton remains. As you travel down Tintern Valley, when you come around the bend and spy the Abbey, it takes your breath away and you can see why Wordsworth had so much to say about it.

Before the storm in White Cliffs outback New South Wales Australia . White Cliffs is an opal mining town and has very little rain, averaging 234 MM annually ! But when it rains it rains with a vengeance. The small black indentations on top of the black strip in silhouette at the bottom of the picture are trees ! / Canon SLR EOS 50e / 35mm Film
Glimpses of yesteryear are portrayed in this black and white shot of the city.
This is a classic view of the Snowdon massif in Snowdonia, North Wales. Often referred to as the Horseshoe owing to the curved arc of the the four main peaks. I shot this in low light with Llyn Mymbyr (Mymbyr Lake) in the foreground. Scanned at 4000 dpi from black and white film on a Nikon Coolscan V ED.
On a damp and misty April morning in the beautiful Tywi Valley in South Wales, these trees appeared out of the mist. I toned the image for effect. Scanned at 4000 dpi from black and white film on a Nikon Coolscan V ED.
I shot this picture of my son, when we had a weekend on the Welsh Coast at a beautiful village called Abersoch

I wanted to get a photograph the waterfalls in Pontneddfechan, Wales. I did some research, planned my route in the GPS and packed my kit. The chap in the waterfall centre was very helpful and was keen to tell me the proper welsh name of the waterfalls. I smiled and nodded, I still don’t have a clue to this day what he was talking about. Unfortunately I lost the map I bought and stupidly brought along my bicycle for quick access. Bad move. I had to carry my bicycle for most of the 10 miles round trip and also had to transverse a waterfall as I got stuck on the wrong side of the river and watched a load of guys in wetsuits try to walk behind the waterfalls and fail. All good fun. / This is my first attempt at taking wateralls so please be gentle. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 50mm, f/20, 2.5 sec, ISO 50. ND filter used. Dust and scratches removed in photoshop, upped the saturation by +2 This shot is also available from a photobook collection called Rural Mementos by redtree.me © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.

Lenora Brown said I should never have stopped doing pen and ink work, so I have been inspired by her comment and have done one. This is the first pen and ink drawing I have done for some time. It is the church my grandmother attended in Johnstown, near Wrexham, North Wales.
