This is a classic view of the Snowdon massif in Snowdonia, North Wales. Often referred to as the Horseshoe owing to the curved arc of the the four main peaks. I shot this in low light with Llyn Mymbyr (Mymbyr Lake) in the foreground. Scanned at 4000 dpi from black and white film on a Nikon Coolscan V ED.
On a damp and misty April morning in the beautiful Tywi Valley in South Wales, these trees appeared out of the mist. I toned the image for effect. Scanned at 4000 dpi from black and white film on a Nikon Coolscan V ED.
I have recently enjoyed a fantastic week in North Wales, visiting relatives and friends, some of whom I hadn’t seen since 1968. My father was Welsh and I have been sort of getting back to my roots. This is the Welsh Dragon, copied from their flag. FEATURED IN THE FINKS OF INK GROUP – 12th November 2008 FEATURED IN THE DRAGON’S FIRE GROUP – 15th June 2009
When I was visiting relatives in Wrexham (North Wales), I spotted a stone head on the lawn near the library. It was decorated with mosaic. As I try not to plagiarise, I decided to draw the outline of the head and then draw it as though it was built with stones, sort of dry-wall style. As of September 2009 this has been favourited 37 times and featured 4 tiems, so I guess someone out there likes it :) I am now offering this for sale as view cards. Here is the photo I used for this drawing (I took it myself so there are no copyright issues) and I ask you to consider whether I do straight copies or, as I believe, I add some of my own style to the finished picture. The joys of the ‘Great Little Trains of Wales’ to quote an old tourist slogan. This painting brings back happy memories of a day spent on the Tallylyn Railway, and captures one of their trains approaching Dolgoch Falls.

Cwm Rhaeadr Fawr above the village Abergwyngregyn a few miles east of Bangor in North Wales. / Just for a change I thought we’d venture down to Wales for a woodland view an where better than this delightful valley (cwm). For the adventurous (not us!) there is what looks like a stunning walk up through the woods to the waterfall (rhaeadr) itself but, even from this point a few yards from the car-park, the scene is hard to beat:-) Thanks for looking / Richard Tech detls / Nikon D200 / Sigma 10-20mm @ 10mm / f20 8s / ISO100
