  • Featured on RedBubble Homepage in October 2008 These wagons of by-gone days were the work-horse of the farm on the prairies. Pulled originally by horses they were used for hauling grain from the old theshing machines in the 20s and 30s. This was laid to rest many years ago behind a hedge of manchurian elm bushes on a farm north and west of Pambrun, Saskatchewan. /

  • This old wagon is located in the settlement area of Cades Cove located in the Great Smoky Mountains. I was lucky enough to be hanging out with Lori Walton and her husband Don, just walking around, absorbing the moment, as people shuffled by. I shot this in sepia because I wanted to give the feel I felt as I was looking at it. Something about the aroma of the old wood along w/ the shed, as you inhale it, sends you back to a time when it was at it’s highest peak, working the fields, delivering goods and transporting the family. So shooting it in sepia was the only way I could really portray the feeling I get everytime I go to this area. I shot this in Sepia Mode set on my camera / Was in SS priority / SS at 1/125 / Fstop at F8 / ISO at 400 / Focal Length at 17mm / Exposure Comp at 0

  • Only he can understand what a farm is, what a country is, / who shall have sacrificed part of himself to his farm or country, / fought to save it, struggled to make it beautiful. Only then will the love of farm or country fill his heart. Antoine de Saint-Exupery

  • December is a chilly time to be living outdoors in Wyoming, but the lives of the sheepherders visiting from Peru, their dogs, and their horses revolve around the needs of the sheep… which takes them to pastures all over Wyoming. • Here is a 1955 (now 54 years old) red Chevrolet Nomad, two-door station wagon. Nomads were made only for a three of years (1955-1957). Only 7,886 Nomads were ever built. I love how the sign is reflected on the side of the Nomad. Trivia….for those Home Improvement Fans (Tim Allen) this is the same type of car that Tim dropped an I-beam on and crushed in the show. • Gunslingers of the old west had two major concerns, their safety in the here-and-now, and their proper burial for the hereafter. A good undertaking could be had for around 20-dollars, a truly heroic coffin and grave would run about a hundred bucks.
