Built in 1868, this beautiful National Trust building is on the way down to Victor Harbour in the main street of Clarendon in South Australia. / I’m pretty sure that it’s the old Clarendon Police Station and Court House. =================================== Click HERE / if you want to see all the images in this portfolio so far. =================================== Framed /
this was taken with my 70-300m VR lens on my d200 right from my camera. No post editing was done. I was using my C1 flash which worked 100%. (I love TTL) he was about 7 M away. at full 300mm zoom. (I also love VR)
B&W mode with my D200. try it if you haven`t. That is if you have a camera that lets you use B&W as an option. this was taken with the 70-300 VR at about 155mm i think and i used my C1 flash.

Now-I know, I know. BUT-I had gotten some very good ideas when I posted the first version of this and put them to good use! Hence-the final version of “Rage” now up. THANK YOU.
The Victorian Railways was the state government department responsible for operating railways in the Australian state of Victoria from 1859 to 1983. In 1961, a standard-gauge rail line was built from Albury to Melbourne, allowing trains from the national rail network to operate through without the break-of-gauge problems that had existed for the 80 or so years previous. To celebrate, the Victorian Railways held a competition to find a “symbol, sign or slogan” to be carried on new freight vehicles for the line. The winner was an 18 year old art student from Bentleigh, who submitted this design. By the 1970s, most freight vehicles on the Victorian Railways wore this simple yet futuristic logo. Note: This logo is reproduced here on the fair assumption that it is considered abandoned, as it represents an entity that no longer exists.

Unedited, shot in fog and rain in the Chugach mountains. Featured in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams today – Thank you for the encouragement! Nikon D70, Nikkor 70-300mm VR, 145mm, f/5, 1/125sec, ISO 250, manual exposure, foggy day, Converted from 12-bit RAW to jpeg using Capture NX2.1.
Another shot of Marsascala Malta in HDR
Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 leaving Kingsford Smith Airport, Sydney, Australia. Sorry but everyone has a little aeroplane nerd inside them somewhere ;) This was a quick spur of the moment shot to test out my new toy. I’d just returned home with a nice shiny new Nikon 70-300VR lens and heard an aircraft in the distance so ran out to the back yard to test the lens. At 300mm on an overcast day about 4.30 in the afternoon (1/160 sec) hand held, I’m pretty impressed with the quality and sharpness of the 70-300 Nikon and how well the VR works. The HDR part came about after seeing one of a very cool lightly HDR’d shot of an RAAF F-18 at this years Avalon airshow on here (for the life of me I can’t find the pic or the artist now, so if you know who you are give me a shout!). The use of HDR in that really brought the gritty details and and gave it a really industrial, grungy look that inspired me to have a go at it. More to come… Taken over Marrickville, NSW. For those who live in the Inner West of Sydney this would be a familiar sight. Nikon D90, Nikkor 70-300 VR f/4.5-5.6 @ 300mm, f/5.6, 1/160, hand held, HDR’d in Photomatix, single RAW exposed 5x at 1/2 EV intervals, Light Room 2.
TULIP FLOWERS / Taken from Tesselaar Tulip Festival, Melbourne. / with NIKON D70, 18-200mm VR
Forest fires and heat throughout Alaska have obscured the Chugach range and limited opportunities to practice landscape photography. I learned much after posing the query, What makes a good landscape photo?, but must wait to work on better foregrounds. However, upon reflection, ahem, other photographic opportunities exist. Nikon D200, Nikkor 70-300mm VR, f/5.6, 1/250, -0.67 exposure compensation, 85mm focal length, ISO 100, 2-stop ND grad, Speedlight SB-800 with diffuser bounced off white wall, Manfrotto tripod. Oh, and a patient poppy plucked from the wilds of Alaska. (If that’s not too anthropomorphic for you.)
