I used tweezers to create the last few folds. I can’t remember how big the paper was, though the wing is 7mm long. So basically I present the creator and the creation where the crane is framed by my fingers forming a circle. We can only understand size, fragility and significance when we compare two things. When we think, for example, how big the world is, we’re like tiny little specks of sand, or even atoms, to the eyes of a God holding the earth in his palm. I did not make this crane and take the picture with the description in my mind; but created it by instinct. It wasn’t easy drawing out my words initially. However many viewers have left very inspiring comments about my work, and for that I am grateful. Thank you. A Watchable Wildlife site is located at the concrete ladder. This ladder opened 100 miles of stream habitat that was previously inaccessible to fish due to the height of the falls.

Welcome to the very first installment of a series of three panel strips I’ve aptly titled “Bubbleworld!” Bet you’re excited, aren’t you? No? I used an exclamation point…didn’t that help any? No, it didn’t have any effect? Well, can you at least pretend to be excited? For your old pal Steve? Come on, what’s it going to hurt? You can? Cool, thanks, I appreciate it. My goal with the “Bubbleworld” is simply to showcase the work of some of the people I’ve met during my first three months or so on the site, and to show my appreciation of them, and admiration for their work in the only way I know how… By poking fun at them. (What can I say, I’m an emotional misfit.) First on the chopping block is the good Mr. Dave Edwards also known as BLYTHART / (For a larger image click the picture) Dave is a man of many artistic talents and seems to be a hell of a nice guy to boot. Hopefully he enjoyed my little comic. Here are just a few examples of Dave’s work that I used as inspiration for the above piece. (Click for a larger image) I’m going to try and do a new one every couple of weeks, some sooner, some no doubt later due to my amazing ability procrastinate. I already have next weeks edition ready to go so expect it next Monday. If anyone out there wants me to feature them, just let me know via. Bubblemail and I’ll see what I can do. It might take me a couple of months to get to you but I’ll try my best. Steve~

  • Youngs River Falls
    by LCImagery

    US$3.56–US$95.00

Young’s River falls hurtles over a large wall, veiling 65 feet into a pool locked in by large gravel bars. The falls are somewhat unique in that the base is located a measly 30 feet above sea level – a modest tsunami could easily wash all the way to the falls. The falls have been featured in several movies; most notably Free Willy 2 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 (don’t hold it against the waterfall for choosing bad movies). Most likely because of this fame, but also being in close proximity to Astoria, OR

Welcome to the second installment of a series of three panel strips I’ve aptly titled “Bubbleworld!” I’m a little late with this weeks entry because I was in Las Vegas with the wife for her birthday. No offense to any of my friends in the redbubble world or their fantastic art, but, well…Vegas is a heck of a lot more fun. That being said, my goal with the “Bubbleworld” is simply to showcase the work of some of the people I’ve met during my first three months or so on the site, and to show my appreciation of them, and admiration for their work in the only way I know how… By poking fun at them. (It’s what I do.) On the chopping block this week is the wonderful Ms. RHANA GRIFFIN Rhana and I go back a few years now. At this point I think she understands my sense of humor as well as anyone, and hopefully she enjoys this. (Because if she doesn’t I honestly do fear for my life.) (For a larger image click the picture) To be fair, Rhana does a heck of a lot more than simply take close up shots of her head and get all “emo” in the description. In fact, she’s a fantastic photographer and I suggest you take a moment to head over and browse some of her work. Here are just a few examples of her work that I used as a direct inspiration for the above piece. (Click for a larger image) I’m going to try and do a new one every couple of weeks, some sooner, some no doubt later due to my amazing ability procrastinate. I already have next weeks edition ready to go so expect it next Monday. Steve!

  • SOPHIA VON BEETHOVEN
    by martin venit

    US$3.17–US$84.66

Well sophia plays with a lot of dissonance. She has the desire to work the keyboard very, very, hard. Seem as though she could “practice” for hours on end. Lots of notes too. Lots of notes. Loud ones I have noticed, are the type that move her the most. Loud and strung together without any seams. Carnegie Hall one day in the future. Lots of loud notes. Real loud. / Well I guess it will have to wait, because we don’t actually have a piano in our home. I feel that its best to let Sophia practice at other people’s homes. You know, to prepare her for the grind of the concert touring circuit.
