  • Kangaroos being forced from their home by the continued urbanization.

  • “Think Lizards” A special non-profit series NOTE: “This is Xena, she is one of John Binns’ rescue iguanas, she is in an OPEN cage and well treated. I used this image to show what happens to most lizard who become pets, they spend their life in a cage. The point is, it is so much better for them to spend their lives in the wild where they belong. Iguanas can not be returned to the wild once caught and brought over to the USA. They will always be wild, never domesticated. When you buy a “THINK LIZARDS” card or print, the money from the product will be donated to the International Reptile Conservation Foundation http://ircf.org/index.php. / A little about the “THINK LIZARDS” card series: / I was blessed a few years back to visit and take photographs at Mr. John Binns’ home. Mr. Binns has over 50 Iguanas on the premises and in his care. They are fascinating to see. He has several breeds such as the Giant Green Iguana, a tropical iguana also known as the Common Green which are the iguanas most pet owners have. He also has Rock Iguanas and Rhino Iguanas, which can live to be 100 years old! He also had a hybrid of the rare Blue Rock Iguana, an endangered species. • “Think Lizards” A special non-profit series NOTE: “With this card,( this image is best at wall art,) it is more about if you have a pet lizard you need to invest your time and your money into caring for him or her right. So many “pet” Iguanas suffer greatly and die painful deaths because of uneducated keepers or owners, LEARN before you take one into your home. Spartigus is one of the LUCKY ones.” To learn how to care for an iguana you want to resuce VISIT: Green Iguana Society When you buy a “Think Lizards” card or print, the money from the product will be donated to the International Reptile Conservation Foundation http://ircf.org/index.php. / A little about the “Think Lizards” card series: / I was blessed a few years back to visit and take photographs at Mr. John Binns’ home. This recent contest was based on the short HSUS video called Overlooked: The Lives of Animals Raised for Food. / / Narrated by James Cromwell, ‘Overlooked’ takes a look at the cruelty animals endure on factory farms, as well as recent advancements for farm animals and what you can do to help them. / / The votes were close! Here are the three entries that garnered the most votes: Carmen Mandel-Cesáreo AngelArtist Patricia Anne McCarty When all was said and done, Carmen Mandel-Cesáreo won! The original prize was to be a gift certificate from the HSUS; however, after seeing the contest entries, the HSUS offered a bonus! Carmen got to choose from a $25 gift certificate OR an autographed copy of a book – and she chose the new book Why Animals Matter: The Case for Animal Protection autographed by author Erin E. Williams. Congratulations, Carmen! Over the course of the next few days I’ll be posting artist profiles on all three artists mentioned above ~ so keep checking back! And if you see our winners elsewhere on the Bubble, be sure to congratulate them on their great artwork and placement in the contest!
