This is my first proper attempt at a Vector portrait. It took quite a lot of patience and hundreds of layers overall, but like i say it is my first attempt so just let me know what you think. The subject i chose for this vector art is someone that i am a great fan of- / Dave Matthews (of the Dave Matthews Band). He is one of my favorite musicians so i knew that I would probably be able to spend a lot more time on it and finish it…and be less likely to throw my laptop across the room :)

Lead guitarist/singer of Gold Coast three piece Black Neon Shadows at the Hard Rock Cafe, Surfers Paradise. I don’t get to do many black and whites with landscapes, to me colour seems natural choice and shooting live music allows me to pursue other processing techniques and options.

“Heartstarters” lead vocalist (my big brother Geoff) hits a high note, full of the raw energy that is synonymous with this band. Ok … so I’m a little bit proud of him!!!

This young lady, Tanya Ryan, literally stole the show May 1/09 at a performance of Lafferty’s Wake in Okotoks, Alberta. She was a lead vocalist for the “band” in this wonderful production with gifted local talent and actors. Her phenomenal stage presence and vibrant personality just blew us all away.
