This is a shot that I took after a rain storm. I was in town and saw this lovely puddle with the blue sky and the the lovely rich red brick with the morning light bringing it to life. Just as I was about to take the shot this person just came in and finished the shot perfectly. It was an unexpected “cherry on top” thing. I am of two minds with this shot as to have it as natural or turned upside down like this one I have uploaded. Any comments as to which you think would be great. HP PhotoSmart C850 bridge camera, f/3.5, shutter 1/237, ISO 100 / Post Processing: done in Photoshop CS – only a slight increase in contrast and removal of some shadowing. That’s it.

Featured by Depth of Field – 2 images per day – May 2009 From the visit to the Botanic Gardens in Adelaide. Tiny yellow flowers which appear to be floatng in space like disembodied helicopters. At least 1:1 / I have no idea what they are called but I was drawn to their simplicity and their bright colour and the challege of using my D90 with AF-S Micro Nikkor60mm lens. 1/50sec F/3.2 / /

An abandoned pleasure craft up on blocks at St Marks, Florida … hunting around underneath the hull I found some wonderful art work. I see waves rolling in one behind the other, with the dawn sun catching the one about to break on the shore.
