Camera Details: / Nikon D70s , Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 DC Location: / Monument Valley Navajo National Park, Utah, United States of America Map: / Road Map , Terrain , Satellite Copyright: / © Brendan Schoon , All rights reserved. Background Information: / Monument Valley is located on the southern border of Utah with northern Arizona (around 36°59′N, 110°6′W). The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation, and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163. The Navajo name for the valley is Tsé Bii’ Ndzisgaii (Valley of the Rocks). / The area is part of the Colorado Plateau. The floor is largely Cutler Red siltstone or its sand deposited by the meandering rivers that carved the valley. The valley’s vivid red color comes from iron oxide exposed in the weathered siltstone. The darker, blue-gray rocks in the valley get their color from manganese oxide. / Monument Valley has been featured in many forms of media since the 1930s. Appearances include movies, such as Westerns by Director John Ford, and science fiction movies such as Back to the Future III; television appearances as in MacGyver; as well as DVD covers, book covers, and video games such as the Playstation 3 video game Motorstorm. source: wikipedia The Watchman / Moraine Lake / Banff National Park, Moraine Lake / Bryce Canyon National Park, The Lonely Tree / Purden Lake / Sunset in Tofino / Bryce Canyon National Park / Grand National Park, Hazy View /

  • Fart is most commonly used in reference to flatulence. The immediate roots are in the Middle English words ferten; which is akin to the Old High German word “ferzan” meaning ‘to break wind’. Fart is sometimes used as a nonspecific derogatory epithet, often to refer to ‘an irritating or foolish person’, and potentially an elderly person, described as an ‘old fart’.

  • The Langdale rainbow
    by Jason Connolly

    US$4.16–US$95.00

Shot yesterday on a church walk in The English lake district national park Cumbria. / The walk was from The Old Dungeon Ghyll and then up Pike O Blisco , then down to Red tarn and up again to Crinkle Crags and close to bow fell and then back into the Langdale valley where we finished off a piping hot chocolate in the Old Dungeon Ghyll pub, by this time the sun was shining and blue replaced white and grey clouds, typical!!... / The walk was about 9-10 miles long and there was plenty of scrambling to be done, my wife would have hated it, she didn’t go, but my 2 lads aged 11 and 14 did it, the eldest Josh at the front most of the time but James bless him struggled, he hated the long slog up but enjoyed the scrambling bits…! / The weather was horrendous, leaving Blackpool with glorious sunshine, blue skies typical for the lake district, it the worst I have experienced in the English lake district, lashing rain and hail and and force gail winds were part of the day but I loved it , but this didn’t stop me snapping away for fun when there was a break in the Clouds. / I would have loved to have done this walk in nice weather / This is a shot when that break appeared from Crinkle crags looking down into the Langdale valley and with a beautiful rainbow too.. / Pike o Blisco is 710 m (2323 ft) high and Crinkle crags is 859 m, (2,818 ft) high / Single Raw file HDRd , created several exposures in photoshop and turned into a hdr and tonemapped in photomatix and finished off in photoshop. / Shot with a Nikon D300 and 18-70mm lens. /

  • God's Easter Promise
    by Marie Sharp

    US$3.99–US$91.20

I found the following verse while reading a book of poetry by Helen Steiner Rice. It goes so well with this image of Christ that I deleted the original image and reposted this to include the poem. We have God’s Easter promise, so let us seek a goal / That opens up new vistas for man’s eternal soul…. / For our strength and our security lie not in earthly things / But in Christ the Lord, who died for us and rose as / King of kings. Writtten by: Helen Steiner Rice /
