CSS is fun.
The fog on the night of the 31st was very strong in the Netherlands. Sometimes I could hardly see more than 3 meters. This was a 20 second exposure taken just after midnight.

The Labour Party Spring Conference hit Birmingham this weekend and the police patrols and security were extremely high. As the Government descended on the city they closed roads, planted snipers on buildings and deployed security suits around the conference locations. This lone patrolman was guarding this brick wall next to the Birmingham canal.
Ok chaps this image is a deviation from the IR images I’m trying to put up but….. not being one to back away from a challege …....:) / This was shot while flying over Antarctica one NYE a long time ago…. 1999 to be exact and its a very poor quality shot having had no love and having langished at the bottom of a very large box of similarly unloved negatives for nearly a decade but I’m not putting it up for its beauty but rather to help fill in gaps with two other IR shots I’ve recently posted. These shots Midnight over Antarctica and Zeus over Antarctica Both these IR shots are somewhat of a mystery to me…. well Zeus over Antarctica certainly is… I just can’t quite work it out. Anyway some fella’s who shan’t be named don’t think I wouldn’t know a coronal arc from my backside so here you go fella’s. This shot was taken maybe a minute before I took the IR shots and bearing in mind that I am not an expert on atmospheric phenomena but rather an artist facinated by the odd and occasionally divinely inspiring play of light that turns up in my images …. particually when I use Infrared film…..I’m going to maintain that this is a circle not a parabolic arc and its a coronal arc around the sun…. which the plane I’m in is about to fly through…. But I’ll take feedback for sure…. and sorry again about the poor state of the image…. with more time it would be sparkly but I want to get this up….... cheers chaps…...:)
Light, or visible light, is electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength that is visible to the human eye (about 400–700 nm). In a scientific context, the word light is sometimes used to refer to the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Light is composed of elementary particles called photons.

Medium: Multi/mixed-media – charcoal, pastel, gesso, watercolour, acrylic, oil, collage, leaves, fabric, papers – himalayan rice paper, cartridge, Arches 300 gsm rag paper. / Triptych: H.122 x W.170 / This work is from the curated group exhibition ‘Remnants of Presence’ Exhibition. Innisfail, Far North Queensland. / One of the conceptual challenges for each artist was to approach a work with subject matter in-two-parts to show recent practice/new work development and be shown together. Visible Traces represents renewal, journey of experiences and time passage. Part A – Of recent practice (the two outer side panels) makes reference to the initial inspirations from: the natural environment, the human figure, various motifs including banana fibre made receptacles/vessels, lino prints and evolved symbology. Part B – The new work (centre) Prior artwork imagery & object ‘remnants’ were used for the initial stimuli and also represents my ‘presence’. All is fused into an abstract multi-layered composition. It is a collective tribute to the tropical shapes, forms, patterns, and textures etc that were the initial inspirations, the visible signage. Organic, gestural and spontaneous in feel (energy), with collage and mixed media processes mingled with personal symbolism. The work provides the viewer with facets and moments. Although ambiguous, there are sufficient visual markers to draw them in to discover further information and help them to intuitively and conceptually complete what they may perceive in the work and to sense the presence of the artist (spirit).
Misty was playing around the clothes horse and discovered that she could hide behind hubby’s jeans . . . until we spotted her! She enjoys hide ‘n’ seek where she remains partially visible but still, then, when we spot her, she’s off to somewhere else. And so the game continues I hope you are enjoying her continuing antics as much as we are. Thanks for looking. Comments and criticisms are welcome.
This was a really fun experiment, and I know Judi will enjoy the hawk… I shot the base image of the wood rose type of flowers in my front garden on the hedge that is full of them. The beautiful hawk on top of the telephone pole is a photo I captured on a trip I took to the Little Bear River in Idaho a year or so ago, and the moon, well, that was shot thru a telescope I used to have access to years ago… it was fun to combine all these images… ;-) This is what I do for most of my composites, but some have up to 12 different images or more.. ;-)

A snow storm is brewing! Sunday December 21st/08. / Yesterday the snowfall was heavy in Ontario, the province next door to us, and on the eastern seaboard of the United States. Today it is moving quite quickly into our area of Quebec. / This is a curve in the road close to my house. You can see a man and his dog braving the elements if you look closely on the right side just past the hydro pole. They only appear as shadows. Needless to say driving visibility is poor. We ventured out earlier this morning to get a few errands done, but returned home as soon as possible. I had anticipated taking a few shots today on the occasion of this being the winter solstice, but did not expect to find such treacherous conditions. The wind is glacial and although I was able to snap a few shots a few feet from the car, my fingers were throbbing from the cold, and I needed to seek shelter immediately!
A North American expression used to describe a snow condition where visibility is so poor we cannot see anything beyond a short distance. / Totally appropriate today during a snowstorm… / I was only outside the car about 10 minutes to get a few shots, but by then my hands had turned into blocks of ice and were tingling. The wind was brutally cold. Needless to say after a few important errands we retired to the comfort of our warm home and did not venture out again. / A lovely area in other seasons, this bench is on a small hill overlooking the Lake of Two Mountains, the distant shore, and the neighboring town of St-Eustache, Quebec CANADA Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55mm lens Featured in the Benches group, December 21st 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting Group December 24th 2008 / The Fine Art of Photography

Planetary forces are flowing around us all the time, their channels are invisible but they still direct and influence us. The title is a little misleading, but I had trouble naming this one! Sorry! I just loved all of the beautiful green & red lush plantation which was so strikingly gorgeous where we stayed while on our visit to Perdido Key, Florida which is located in the United States on the Gulf Of Mexico. Take care & Enjoy your delightful view! Smiles Leilani Perdido Key, Florida USA
