Flags fly at half mast to honour those that died at the Virgina Tech Massacre. The building is the Boston Library which is a gorgeous building in itself, but this image saddens me given the great loss a whole nation was feeling at the time it was taken. Out of respect for those that passed I won’t be charging any mark up on this image.

The Falls of Brush Creek drop 25 feet over a sandstone ledge near the mouth of the stream’s deep gorge of Brush Creek at Bluestone River. These “block” falls have been a popular local beauty spot since European settlement, though natives most likely frequented the falls for the same reason. The West Virginia Nature Conservancy in cooperation with Pipestem Resort State Park, maintains a natural area at the falls. A rough trail leads from a picnic shelter to a ledge from which the cascade may be observed. / NIKON D60 /

New River Gorge Bridge is the largest single span bridge in the western hemisphere, located in Fayettville WV USA This shot shows the bridge reflection in the New River – Shot from the one lane bridge below. I took a trip to Virginia Waters (Surrey,UK) last autumn and spent the last hour of my 5 mile walk around the the lake at the waterfall known locally as the the cascades. I was trying to capture some of the essence of autumn so took a series of pictures at this location. Equipment & Settings Camera: Nikon D80 / Lens: Sigma 28-70mm / Shutter speed: 2.5secs / Aperture: f/22 / ISO: 100 / Focal length: 32mm

Richard S. Reynolds Sr. Garden / The entire memorial is dedicated to honor those veterans who served our country and many more. The theme surrounds the Normandy Invasion and is a must see !! The single picture captured here is a shot of the Richard S. Reynolds Sr. Garden which is an adaptation of an English Garden to acknowledge the extensive planning and prep work for D-Day that took place in the UK. It is laid out to mirror the shoulder patch of the Supreme Headquarters, Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF). The most prominent feature is the circular folly, within it has is a sculpture of the Supreme Commander and a ceiling mosaic of the battle area (which you can’t see that from this photo) Maybe I can share others at another time.
