  • She’s definitely unsure of what is happening to her life but is searching for an answer somewhere… behind those eyes. Oil pastel on paper

  • The violence of volcanic eruption displaced by time and replaced by the beauty of greenery. The view from Red Rock Lookout down near Colac. / The depressions are craters as I understand it. Unretouched up by anything except time.

  • How can one not feel this way when their abuser is controlling every little thing in their life. You become so robotic and appeasing, it’s sickening. / She’s not the prettiest little thing in this series but she speaks the truth about this subject that I have been working on for 6 months.

  • This used to be “Seeing Red” when I first picked up an oil pastel and put it in my hand not knowing what to do or how the process worked. I really knew nothing about it as I have always painted with a brush – so I changed it and know it looks quite different but somewhat the same??? Make sense? / The title says it all…when you feel helpless in an abusive situation many people just want someone to free them & take them away from it all…

  • Unfortunately we lose so many women, men & children due to domestic violence. The statistics are alarming and I did this one for shock value but also to show the reality of what can happen to anyone in an abusive relationship. / Don’t put your life or your children’s lives in harms way. / Get out. Run don’t walk!!! / But you must have a plan and a safe way to get out and a very safe place to stay… / Always remember that you and your children matter the most. / Reclaim your life!!!

  • Whenever the ‘shiz’ would hit the fan in one of my dysfunctional & abusive relationships I would develop a very thick skin and toughen up and look at him, salut him!!! I’d either say nothing with that simple gesture or say “As you were” afterwards. / He knew then he could not penetrate my inner strength. / I would usually just walk away with a smile on my face which would piss him off even more, but he knew not to bother me when I was in THAT mood. / Basically, I was telling him to forget about imposing his abuse, name calling, arguing, yelling, etc…on me because I would have no part of it. / Then I’d go out or retreat to my art room. / Sometimes we can muster that kind of attitude & other times we are just too weak! / I always loved doing it though because it made me feel stronger than he was; a better person not to indulge in an ongoing battle that we both knew could never be won either way! / However, I’m all good now because today was a great day!

  • I also revised this one!

  • Many thanks to Marcus Ranum for the models. Textures from CG Textures. FEATURED IN: “MACABRE PHOTOGRAPHY” “MOODY, DARK, EVOCATIVE”
