Here I would like to tell you, that the sculpture has not been made by me, and the emphasis is on what is can represent, with the shadow behind! / Just let your imagination run wild and see that shadow as being , the shadow of the past and painfull experiences of abuses, but as well ,the shadow pursuing , the person into the present and the future! / Trying to catch the abused, once more! / It is part of a serie of photographs I took, to show the evolution, or the regression of the personality, who allows the abuser to go on! / It is a fact that the abuser, is a cyclic personality, and that there is an cascading of the violence ! / In France, 1 out of 10 women is abused by her husband or mate, and 1 out of 7 children! / These are the known figures!

  • Everyone has conflicts, internal and external…the key is that we understand the difference…

  • “The smiling monster” was featured in the group The Voyage Of The Surrealists. This drawing is about a confusing situation of rape by a seemingly good guy, who had no clue it was rape… / The victim is scarred for life, as all victims of sex abuse are. Violent rape by a stranger is more traumatic in one way, but when you are raped by someone you trusted, the damage can be even greater, at times. It’s NOT A PENCIL DRAWING – it’s a pointillistic INK drawing, like all my other drawings. See also *The smiling monster – (cropped) /

  • During a relatively peaceful 2002 protest against the World Bank in Washington, D.C., anti-war demonstrators began to change the situational climate of the march. Tensions between protesters and police, who were expecting a violent demonstration, began to rise. Police began to arrest everyone that they managed to surround inside Pershing Park, guilty, as well as innocent bystanders alike. In relative anticipation of the police’s reaction, these young protesters brought bandannas to not only hide their identities, but to shield them from pepper spray and CS gas. Pershing Park, Washington D.C. September 2002 / Shot with Nikon N90s Here are the rest of the images from this series: /

  • Last year I messed around with different oil colors and portraiture & it was to give myself an idea if I was at all capable of creating something like this without using a brush and a canvas…being a survivor of domestic violence I wanted to do a series on just that! / This is the only one I found half decent & have decided to start from scratch on this idea … sometimes we can speak without using words to reach a vast audience on the important issues in life that should be spoken about as loudly as possible! Peace & happy creativity, / Ieneke :)

It is the 10th state in the US for deaths resulting from domestic violence. / My mother was murdered by my step father when I was seven and since he was a police officer he got away with it. / This is for my mom to raise awareness and to help women in that situation to find the courage to leave. Song lyrics from Lucinda Willimas CD / World Without Tears If we lived in a world without tears / How would brusies find a face to lie upon / How would scars find skin to etch themselves into / How would broken find the bones If we lived in a world without tears / How would heartbeats know when to stop / How would blood know which body to flow outside of / How would bullets find the guns If we lived in a world without tears / How would misery know which back door to walk through / How would trouble know which mind to live inside of / How would sorrow find a home If we lived in a world without tears…...................
