This artwork, was inspired by choices. How the choices that we make determine the directions we take.
Marcus Garvey was a Black civil rights leader during the 1920s and is often overlooked due to the fame of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. This drawing was produced using a pointilist style similar to that of George Seurat and Vincent Van Gogh. It is made up of tiny dots all weighted differently to suit the tonal areas.
I did this portrait in oil pastels. Van Gogh may have been “A little out there” but I love his work
dear vincent / i feel your pain / the voices that / must have tumbled / in your brain / what made you / genius / made you / insane / most times / i feel crazy, too

This is photo manipulation, almost entirely; but, I like it anyway! Vincent is one of my daughter’s ex-boyfriends and this was done from a photo I took on the 19th of October, I think. Yes, I do still talk to him; probably my daughter would not approve, but, so far as I know he did nothing wrong except for not being right for her.
There’s a dirt road on the hill face which stands out from a distance, and that I’ve been chasing for a while – until I discovered it was closed off. So then tried to / find a way behind it. / This was the solution – a road behind the range going up onto the summit. This panorama was taken on a cloudy day, through one of the fences but still at the summit of the Sellick’s Hill/Willunga Range. Gulf of Saint Vincent lies below.
Vincent Leonard Price, Jr. (May 27, 1911 – October 25, 1993) was an American film actor, remembered for his distinctive voice, his tall 6-foot 4-inch stature and serio-comic attitude in a series of horror films done in the latter part of his career.
“Mother and child” was featured in the groups Core [C.O.R.E] and Statues and Such This small “statue” is to be found above the door to the IGLESIA DE SAN VICENTE MÁRTIR, the Romaneaque church of St. Vincent in Sigüenza, an ancient town in the northern region of the province of Guadalajara, Spain. Photo taken with my Canon PowerShot S5 IS camera. Sigüenza is a beautiful city whose lofty architectural heritage was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1965. / The castle, the cathedral, and the main square, or Plaza Mayor, are three spots that the visitor should not miss in the city, although most streets in Sigüenza are filled with gorgeous civil and religious buildings. At present, the castle houses the town’s Parador de Turismo. It was built after the Arab invasion in the 8th century, around the same time that the Alcazaba (citadel) was built. Significant parts of the wall are preserved, whose gates and towers begin at the castle. The cathedral, started in 1130, is Romanesque, although it was finished following Gothic canons. Its exterior resembles a medieval fortress, and has Romanesque towers and portico, as well as an impressive rose window. The interior houses the sarcophagus of Martín Vázquez de Arce, also known as “El Doncel de Sigüenza”, (the Young Nobleman from Sigüenza). We must also point out the sacristy of Cabezas, built by Covarrubias, and the cloister, the choir, with Gothic stalls, and a very significant art collection, that includes a painting of the Annunciation, by El Greco. At Plaza Mayor, also known as Plaza del Mercado, a Renaissance-style square developed in 1484-1494, we must point out the canons’ houses, with rows of balconies and galleries, as well as the City Hall and Puerta del Toril. Other interesting spots include the Romanesque church of San Vicente, the parish church of Santiago, the seminary, the Dolcel House, the Sol lodging house, the church of Ursulinas, the college of Sagrada Familia, the house of the Archdeacon, the shrine of Vera Cruz and the college of Infantes. In a little house right opposite the Roman Arena in Arles, and only a few steps away from where the famous “Maison Jaune” – the yellow-fronted house where Vincent Van Gogh lived whilst in Arles once stood, is a wonderful recreation of Vincent Van Gogh’s bedroom in Arles. / This is where he painted many remarkable pictures and where he produced a painting of the actual room in October 1888. / The painting “Vincent’s Bedroom In Arles” is one of his most popular and one of his own personal favourites. / We know a great deal about this painting and the artist’s own feelings as he was so pleased with it he described it in great length to his family in 13 letters. / In a letter to his brother Theo he wrote ”......simply my bedroom, only here colour is to do everything, and giving by it’s simplification a grander style to things, is to be suggestive of rest, or of sleep in general. In a word, looking at the picture ought to rest the brain, or rather the imagination.” / Van Gogh actually produced 5 versions, 3 oil paintings and two sketches, the first of the oils is considered to be the most accomplished with it’s vivid colours and elaborate technique. It currently hangs in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. / Yellow was Van Gogh’s favourite colour throughout his Arles and Saint-Remy period. / He described the colour of his bed as the yellow of butter. / The recreation of Van Gogh’s bedroom was a painstaking attempt to recreate the exact setting and particular atmosphere of the room. Every little detail has been carefully reproduced. The whole idea is to recreate the feeling and to fuel the emotion and they have succeeded beyond that, it is an absolutely unique and never forgotten experience to be in Vincent’s Bedroom In Arles. Vincent Van Gogh painted his famous “Vincent’s Bedroom In Arles” in his bedroom where he created many other remarkable paintings. / I took this photo in the wonderful recreation of his bedroom on the first floor of a small house called simply “La Chambre de Vincent van Gogh”, directly across the road from the Arles Roman Arena in Arles, France. / He referred to this painting as being of ”.....simply my bedroom…...”.

This took a few hours but I did it! Very time consuming to make all those short strokes by computer. I just love Vincent Van Gogh and guess I am just in that mood. Started in Paint.Net and finished in Photoshop and enhanced with Topaz Labs.

It was just the 2nd day of summer and we were treated to a magnificent sunset! / This photo was taken at West Beach, looking west over Gulf St Vincent. / I cropped and straightened this photo only, no further editing done.
A lovely large piece of driftwood washed up on the shore on St. Vincent Island, Florida and was drying out. I thought it was beautiful in an abstract way. Image slightly enhanced with an overlay layer with the Fractalius filter applied.
