I just love the low sun in Parisian winters. The shadows stretch and the light is magical. / This is rue Mouffetard, probably one of the most village-like streets of Paris.

Pisaq, Cusco – Perú - / I met those two little girls from a little village near the ruins of Pisaq, close to Cusco. / At the beginning they were a bit shy and they didn’t seem very keen to be photographed. / But I gained their trust after chatting a little bit.. and I managed to take a few pictures of them.
Colourful houses stacked onto the hillside around Brixham harbour in Torbay, South Devon, with the setting sun perfectly complimenting the illuminated shopfronts on the harbourside. A single trawler is moored beside the quay safely home from a day of fishing. The fishermen had their catch of the day, as did I. View the rest of our portfolio here Or visit our own website here
Their life is so simple..perhaps not like all of us / no prosperity nor luxury / no fancy clothes and a fancy bathroom / or fancy cars and a fancy office / fancy house with a fancy kitchen / but they have freedom that none of us has ever known / and they have a nature that none of us ever can compare with / our beautiful garden at home / and they are filled with joy and hope in all circumstances / so if we ever think that we are richer then them..we better think twice!!! Mevagissey is another of my favourite little Cornish Fishing villages, situated in St. Austell Bay on the South coast of the county. Still a thriving fishing port but over recent years it has become a popular holiday destination and quite a number of the old fisherma’s cottages around the harbour are now used as Summer holiday homes with a view of the harbour and bay. /

Recently, my family and I enjoyed a lovely week in North Yorkshire, staying near the coast but enjoying day long excursions out to surrounding countryside and beaches. On one of our days out, we were making our way to Dalby Forest to meet up with fellow Red Bubbler and dear friend Paul McGuire when we decided to stop in the beautiful and picturesque village of Thorton-le-dale, with its lovely parks and walks. Just down from the centre of the town is a beautiful walk along the Thornton Beck stream. Along this walk is this beautiful 17th century Thatch Cottage which has been the on countless jigsaws, chocolate boxes and tins, not to mention calendars. In fact, it has been said that it is the most photographed cottage ever. So I set out to try and catch a view that is not commonly seen, which is probably an impossible task. I noticed that on the other side of the bridge from the main road, there was a slip way into the stream. I went to see the view from that side, and this is the scene I found. I must point out that when I took these shots, it was raining and very windy, hence the movement. I do like this view very much. Cottages at the end of a lane in Wanlockhead, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. High in the Lowther Hills to the west of the M74, Wanlockhead is Scotland’s highest village at 467m (1531 ft). It owes its existence to the lead, gold and other minerals found under the surrounding countryside. These mineral deposits were probably first exploited by the Romans and from the 1200s they were being worked again by groups of miners who gathered here each summer. The first permanent settlement appeared in about 1680, when the Duke of Buccleuch built a lead smelting plant and workers’ cottages that could be occupied all year round. Although lead was for many centuries the mainstay of the village’s economy, it was not the only mineral found here. What became known as “God’s Treasure House” also produced zinc, copper, silver and gold. Some of the world’s purest gold, at 22.8 carats, was found locally and used in the Regalia of the Scottish Crown. Today’s Wanlockhead depends primarily on tourism. The Southern Upland Way long distance footpath passes through the village, but the main attraction for the motoring tourist revolves around the village’s industrial past.
